Barrow v Aston Villa match thread
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa match thread
Haven't heard the interview itself but going off what's written on here and Adam's summary following the interview, if that isn't a warning shot across the bow of the board, I don't know what is.
Popular side since '03.

He has come from FGR who are clearly a professional outfit in how they operate. I think MC is more than a little naffed off with the circumstances he is having to work under. The club need to sort it out and quickly otherwise we will be looking for yet another manager.

But he’s not a bad workman though is he. He has a proven track record. If we take on a guy like MC then we have to give him the tools to do his job otherwise he ain’t gonna stick around

Re: Barrow v Aston Villa match thread
Went in the hope of the outside chance but it wasn’t to be, much like in 99.9% of games with such a disparity in league positions. You know it will pretty well end as it did but hope for that one glorious time when it doesn’t.
Lads tried hard and never gave up running so well done to them.
Gloom and doom over so on to the next game which we really need to win.
I know Mark Cooper is fairly dour in interviews and tells it how it is but it does seem worrying if the manager is not getting the facilities that he would like. Just hope the situation is resolved soon.

Thought we trained at Witton. Watched my granddaughter play in a ladies game there a few weeks ago. Could have sworn it was on grass.

Re: Barrow v Aston Villa match thread
Villa were levels above us; quicker, stronger and they moved the ball about miles better than we did. Their fans were also very loud most of the game, excellent travelling support to be fair
We made a decent effort but at the end of the day we lost to Harrogate 3 days ago with a similar team, it was always very unlikely. Not sure we should ever be having Taylor and Ellis in the spine of the team together these days really, serious lack of legs/pace right in the centre of the team there. We are desperate for a striker but we all know that. Hutton was very good again tonight, he’s our liveliest attacking outlet at the moment which is a slight worry.
This training thing really needs sorting, Cooper didn’t sound happy at all again tonight in his interview
Great attendance; hopefully we sold plenty of programmes etc as well and that a few people will have enjoyed the experience enough to fancy coming back again to a league game

Clearly never played or understood the game in your life. How any team can bond and improve without a training pitch is impossible as anyone with an ounce of football know how will know.

Shame it was 6 0 we should have had a pen just watched it back at home those Villa lads looked class above and to think many won’t make it as premier league players I’d take a couple on loan especially the lad who got a hat trick we so need to get this training situation sorted to give us every chance this season

Felt that Villa were also a cut above us in the physicality they employed.
Remember Gordon Strachan saying sometimes you have to fight to be allowed to play football.

Re: Barrow v Aston Villa match thread
Faster, fitter, individually superior and as a team. Given a lesson in the massive difference between PL and L2. Bristol match on Saturday will be huge. Every time Cooper has been interviewed recently he has mentioned the (lack of) training facilities. We were run ragged tonight, but as an outclassed side there is still some spirit, and the fans were good. I'm just slightly concerned that Cooper might resign if the training facilities don't become acceptable to him.
