This For Me-spot on.
"Lessons learned- We were looking for the next Evatt and we failed three times in doing that. We could try that again and get it wrong again. With Brown, we have someone with positive character and the battle scars and he’s been there and i think he is the man who can give us that stability and confidence to help us establish ourselves. We don't seem confident as an EFL club and that has to be down to 48 years of non league."

Don't think we should be taking the p1ss and offering Broony a short-term deal loaded with get-out clauses after 6 months. Phil didn't come up with yesterday's spuds, he's an experienced manager who has earned respect. Offer him a proper deal or start looking for the next David Dunn.

He was brought in for 9 games. Currently lost 3 won 2 drawn 1 with 3 to go. The jury is still out for me. Make the decision after the nine games. Can he get a tune out of this squad now we are playing for nothing? I agree with Mike on this the club must research hard before making the decision.
he was brought in to keep us in the league, he's done that.
we can lose the next 3 games now and he's still done what he needed to.
Get him signed up!

The guy has done what was required of him, made some difficult decisions (dropping top goal scorer) and getting more out of the squad than Cooper.
For me he and Neil McDonald are a great fit for us. Now we are safe get the deal done.

Personally when he came in I thought he sounded like a second hand car salesman
As for his attire I am not interested alot of well dressed dummies in BAE lacking ability but look pretty.
Everyone complained about none of the players were fit for purpose.
The new Manager bounce never happened..
So what's he done ?
Well organised a poor team to get results where no one would assume possible..
Someone called him a dynasour because of his references to big Sam but football is a simple game.
If you can organise a team it's easy and that's what he has done.
In all honesty I thought what have we done appointing him but he saved us along with Mcdonald.
A one year contract with quarterly milestones and bonuses is the answer

I agree totally with this.

Playing devils advocate We’re assuming we can afford to appoint PB on a permanent contract. Who knows what it cost to bring him in for the last 10 games? For all we know the board might have gone ‘all-in ‘with a crazy offer to attract him here in the hope of keeping our EFL place but can’t afford to make that a long term deal.
IMO we should be trying to keep him here though

We could end up winning our last 3 games with PB and NMcD managerial currency soaring resulting in offers from elsewhere. I get the feeling PB likes this place unlike his predecessor. We also have a history of great affinity with Geordies.
I trust the BOD implicitly to make the right call as they did when appointing PB for last 9 games, it must have taken some guts to off-load Cooper when they did a massive thanks and well done from me.

Just gone back to the Crawley away game thread, many wanted Brown sacking, Rooney waste of time and send Holloway back to Burton, players don`t care about the Club and we will get relegated, then in 9 days Brown should be here next season, Rooney is a hero again & lets get Holloway signed up, funny old game is football.
Yeah: football fans are a fickle bunch
I was glad to see Rooney re-signed. Regarding Holloway, he's improved but I'd still like to see him, Josh Gordon, Luke James and Zanzala departing sooner rather than later. Or we'll have the same problems next season!
Phil Brown has done the job and achieved the objective for which he was hired
However; I'm not sure he'd wish to stay here now the job's complete.

Brown had to go to India for a job and then was out of work for a year before coming back and failing at Southend. McDonald recently failed at Walsall.
I think it’s pretty certain well offer them the job and they’ll take it.

Everyone on here knew Banks should be dropped He should of dropped him after that pathetic attempt of a tackle against port vale which cost us apoint. I think Mcdonald needs a lot of credit Brown is the motivator but "Macca" as the player`s call him is definitely the footballing brain he`s worked on set pieces etc.

Holloway changed the whole dynamic of the team, and has allowed Brown to direct the team to play get it forward fast football, which has worked. If Brown is offered the job, and accepts, Holloway himself or someone identical is essential

Macca was with Phil Brown in India before they got sacked. His next gig after that was with us when Rob Kelly took him on to assist.
