Average attendances

Attendances have dipped since the ban. There were attendances of below 3,000 at the Mansfield and Swindon fixtures. I also believe the attendance at the Northampton game was below 3,000. It could be argued that the dip in attendances is related to our poor home form. Debatable.

We're doing relatively okay in the EFL. However, as Jonty mentioned - earlier in this thread - footballing fortunes can soon change. I believe the ban will have long term consequences for the club if our younger fans continue to be alienated.

Younger fans not being alienated. It's best practice advice from EFL to ensure supporters under age of 16 are accompanied by an adult . So will no doubt be affecting all clubs home and away

Advice. That doesn't mean EFL clubs have to implement that advice.
Most under 15s would want to attend with their peers rather than with an adult, surely?

I started attending home games when I was nine (old Div 3 days) with a bunch of mates. All of whom became BAFC regulars over the years. If we'd have been banned back then I doubt whether we'd be supporting the club now.

With the Rugby season starting on Saturday that will effect our gates but we only clash 3 times when playing home games the same weekend Feb 11/12th March 25/26th and final home game when the rugby play May 7th and us the 8th I think the Rugby averaged around 2,500 last season

I think most away fans will come season after season, they just want to see their team.

Carlisle is out of the way, but we find (although we don't get the away support we would if we were closer) clubs bring consistent numbers. Some really like coming to Carlisle for an away day. I used to always enjoy going to Orient although it's a mammoth trip.

What are the plans for the away end at Holker Street? Has anyone got a link to the plans? Cheers.

Not published yet - from the Q&A reports, sounds like a minority of the necessary additional seats will installed under a shallow cover at the Steelworks End, the present depth of which suggests probably only two rows of seats, possibly a third, bearing in mind a gangway needs to be maintained at the front. A sterile area will presumably be maintained either side of the players' entrance and breaks will be necessary in the front row of seats to allow access behind. The pitch is reported as 68m wide so I would estimate that it might be possible to install close to 200 seats at that end with two rows and assuming the present disabled shelter is relocated elsewhere.

Most, if not all, of the remaining seats, perhaps over 800, are likely to be installed to the east of the main stand into the Holker Street corner. Presumably this will need to match the profile of the main stand and include facilities for the visitors, such as turnstiles, refreshments, toilets. The floodlight post and electrical cabin in that corner present challenges to the design, which will be awaited with interest.

The new standing area at Harrogate, seen in this article, gives a rough idea of what our new East Stand may look like, though presumably we will need to build right to the corner.
