Excellent performance by Barrow for an hour, Shane about the first 20 minutes. Having said that we had more than sufficient chances to win, and should have. Need to become better in front of goal.

Similar to the Wrexham game in that we seemed too respectful in the first period before really going at them in the second. We did really well second half and of course we should have won it but these things happen (even if they shouldn't). No complaints at all about terrific prospect Stephenson being awarded MOTM and I also agree with the praise for Foley. We know Telford hasn't had a great start but he was lively in his short spell today and I really want to see him and the very impressive Acquah play up front together as the little fella might start to justify his reputation if he can feed off the big fella. Although there were many good performances I'm giving my personal MOTM award to Gotts. The amount of ground he covered was phenomenal, challenging for everything and closing down space tirelessly, which we needed to do against a very decent team.

After a poor first 10 mins I thought we grew into game and were better side 2nd half. Created some good chances and probably should have won. Well done Barrow. They brought 600 but the way they go on you'd think it was 6000.

Gardner would have 10 goals by now if he just had that extra bit of confidence. Must have had 4 decent chances today. Whitefield just didn't look before his shot and had more time than he must have thought. Can't complain about the season so far. The team are far better than last season and at times we completely control the games but for poor finishing. Just a shame a lot of the decent chances don't land at Telfords feet as I think he would score

Turned out to be a really good match. After 20 mins I thought we were going to get stuffed, but the fightback midway through the first half seemed to come from nowhere.
In the second half we shaded it, with County still being a threat. I thought they were good, they didn't cheat, and kept trying right to the end. Best side we've played at home this year. All that said we went toe to toe in a lung bursting game (in the end) and it wouldn't have been unfair at all if we'd nicked it.
Says a lot about Barrow now I think - a genuine, decent L2 side.
For what it's worth thought the ref was decent for a change.

As others have said we showed them too much respect for the first 25 mins Luca Stephenson coming on for the injured Warren gave us a better shape at the back showing maturity and composure way beyond his years and not giving Jones an inch. A soft but definite penalty aside I think they only troubled us twice both efforts going wide. McGoldrick given the freedom of the town to walk about at will during the game took his penalty well. Then Foley took the bull by the horns and pushed us on. A couple of golden opportunities before the half closed with Foley again involved in all that was good from us. Second half it was our turn to press limit them space wise and apart from a Chester hiccup that Farman pulled him out the mire we were unlucky that we either didn’t finish or the ball never fell kindly for us. Their number four got away with countless fouls by a lenient referee but he never got away with the hand ball that gifted us a penalty that was well dispatched by Campbell. We continued to threaten as the game opened up and had the better opportunities to claim all three points.

Telford did a lot in a very short shift today. Good link up play, energy and movement

I wonder if Garner in that advanced role Foley had today behind Acquah (who was superb again today) and Telford might be the way we go eventually

Not sure why garner would replace foley? Foley was possibly man of the match today, carried the ball so well. If not foley there today, we have gotts (who was also very good today) and spence.

Telford and aquah should be our 2 starting front players I agree

If you care to listen to his interview on Radio Cumbria he said we were rubbish for the first 20 minutes. He wanted a fast front footed start but said we were to passive and not the start he had asked from the players.

Pete Wild was not happy with the way the team started.
So much so, that after about 10 minutes he went and sat at the back of the stand assessing the situation.
After 10 minutes sat there he went back pitchside and addressed things.

That was my first game this season and enjoyed the match, a draw was probably the fairest result. Incredible how far this club has come in six years and the new stands make a big difference to the atmosphere. It seems that every year some form of tangible progress is being made either on or off the park.

Acquah is quality. Held up everything that came his way and got turning and causing them problems all game. Garner was class too so direct (think people scrutinise him too much because of the record signing thing) we’ve got such a good problem to have at the moment, we’ve got so many quality attacking options and I just don’t think we’ve found a way to get them in a system yet. When we do find out how to score goals I have no doubts we’ll be up there. We have all the foundations of a solid team at the back and through the middle but I don’t think we’re deadly enough up top. Also shout out to Luca coming on at right back, I’m not sure if he’s ever played there before but the boy looked a natural, caused notts all sorts of trouble and was getting stuck in all game, would like to see him have a run out next couple of games.
