Impressed with Ethan Ellis of Man United who I saw recently dismantled Altrincham with a hat trick. Needs to now go out on loan a left sided winger/forward who scores goals. Physically pretty strong which he would need to be in L2. Put Kayoute through the middle and we would have two very quick forwards to ask questions of any defence. Thing is Clemence believes in the horrible 4-2-3-1 system like Man Utd Ten Hag teams so you never score many goals playing that way so if we continue that way the idea of fast breaking forwards is not going to work.
Yes I must have missed the exciting football he promised!

The top 4 goalscorers in the Premier League - Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs - all play 4-2-3-1 although you could argue Arsenal don't play with a 1 up top as Havertz doesn't really play as a conventional striker and they all have good enough players to be able to change systems if needed.
Those teams have the right type of players to implement that system. United didn't & Barrow don't appear to have either. It then comes down to managerial decisions making. Ten Hag did not seem to want to change his system and suffered the consequences.

Perhaps Clemence is modeling himself on Ten Hag!

Well we have won a cup just like Ten Hag did last season.

I'd be very surprised if Luke Armstrong is allowed to go on loan in January.
We've got Charlie Wyke out for the season and Georgie Kelly is very injury prone.
Would be insanity to let another striker go out on loan.
He might have been dropped last week, but I get the impression Williamson still rates him.
Barrow will have to look elsewhere, Steven Rigg at Workington is having a belting season and would maybe consider signing on at Holker Street.
Tallow. Without wanting to get into a pedantic argument, if Wyke is out for the season and Kelly is injury prone, why wasn't Armstrong on the bench at least for Carlisle's last game? Unless he was injured of course.
It seems to me that Armstrong might well be available for loan in January, and a move here might be good for all concerned.
Only time will tell, I suppose.

That's certainly true but I'm not sure we have the forward players for any system!

Why would we want Armstrong?
He has been an awful signing for Carlisle just like most of the others Simpson brought in.

Why would we want a striker who can't get into a team that is bottom of the league?

Doesn't sound like the sort of characcter we'd want at the club anyway. Spat his dummy out at Harrogate and refused to play when a transfer request was turned down.

Because he's better than any of the forwards we have at the moment

Agree with this. Not necessarily whether Armstrong might be the answer. But the forward options have been under delivering for so long now. The risk of change making things worse up front is now so low that logic never mind passion would dictate that to be the case.

Both correct.

Halifax fans would say Kian Spence did similar when Pete Wild went after him in the Jan window and Halifax wouldn’t let him leave He hasn’t turned out to bad for us

Think the way to go is to use our sporting director to approach clubs wanting to loan out youth players ,means does not cost us much and no long contract to cancel and no payoff

Really? And how would that bring in the "proven goalscorer" you say we so desperately need?
