Gosh, it really is a load of fogies on here innit? And here’s another one… born in Barrow in 1957, now in “that London” where I’ve been since late 1980s.

First match: Barrow 1 Grimsby Town 1; FA Cup first round 1964. Don’t go that much these days as I’m sure I’m a bit of a jinx. Can’t recall the last time I saw us win either live or on TV. Even the exact moment I looked on the BBC site to check the score last night, Notts scored FFS! Made sure I didn’t check again until 9:45!
No bubblewrap unpopped.

Old fogies r us. Born 1952 in Barrow and my first match was in 1966 Mulvaney, Mulholland, McCartney and Fred Else etc. I was at both the Southampton and Leicester games (bloody Shilton kept us out). Worked as an expat for 30 years so didn't see much of the wilderness years but moved back to Barrow and a regular season ticket holder for the last 20 years. Still get to most home games and quite a few away games. COYB
Just say no to VAR :sentoff:

I lived for one year in Oswaldtwistle..... horrendous, but used to go as a kid with my Dad to Ewood park. I don't think it's my memories going , but I,m sure we'd get passed over old blokes head and deposited on the pitch and sat on low forms behind the goals. Please tell me this happened ! :D

Born in Ulverston, moved to Barrow, first game Newport 1965/1966, Highlights Wembley twice, beating Fulham, Crystal palace,2 games against Southampton and Leicester nearly 17,000 !,then being part of our lowest ever attendance 143 against South Liverpool!, never thought I'd see us back in the EFL! just wish I could win the euros and then give the club some money to make the stadium up to date and money over to to make sure we never struggle again!

Hi I am Barrow born & bred, I played in a Barrow shirt firstly as a 15 year old in 1967 for the A team our home ground was Furness Abbey amphitheatre, we slid in the cowpats when making slide tackles from 10 yards away.(wouldn't be allowed now). I played for the under 18s for Colin Appleton when we were in the old 3rd division was offered an apprenticeship but turned it down then came back to Bafc after playing for many local teams in 1980 to play for the reserves alongside Cowpes Kenny Gordon, and Kevin Brocklebank. Moved away around Scotland for 30 years and now live in Newcastle area. I follow Barrows progress from a distance and just a lurker on here but always interested to hear whats going on from afar. Keep up the banter as we are all Barrow wherever we are

Especially if your at the match waiting with anticipation for the final whistle so you can eventually celebrate down The Crown n Thistle by getting your hands on a drink to wet your your whistle. 🍻

Born in Barrow. Fan since 71. Even had the FA Trophy sat in my front room when Barrow thought it had been stolen in 1990. Wonder how many people know that lol.
Memorable visit to Altrincham getting a police escort through Manchester on foot with people asking who we were and were astounded when we told them. Train driver would not set off until we all stopped singing lol
Massive fan all my life loads of ties with the the club from the past

My first game would have been in the mid 1970s as a kid, when we lived on Laburnum Crescent. We park over there on matchdays. I always like to look at the reservoir, I wrote a piece about the rezza and soccer that was published in a book.
My mate Paul Moorby lived in that street as well,

Born in Ulverston 1953. Attended home matches at Holker St mid to late 60’s. Joined Navy in 1970 and settled on the South Coast when I left. Got to the 2nd Wembley final and try to get to as many matches within travelling distance from the South Coast as I can (as a musician it’s not often I get a free Saturday). COYB.
