Danny Rose
Re: Danny Rose
Hardly 'strong words'!
"I think Danny's a nice guy but we were just on different pages of what we've seen football to look like and the mentality of how it needs to move forward."

That’s the polite way of using strong words.

Re: Danny Rose

Re: Danny Rose
Not sure about inferring to players still with us. What happened to wiping the slate clean, shaking hands and getting on with it. So is it healthy for the Manager to make these comments publicly. These players are still involved and need to do a job for us.

Re: Danny Rose
He has been very damming and very scathing about anything and everything about the c club last season since he came in players included. I get the impression he takes no prisoners and says it as it is to everyone and if that causes issues with individuals I really don't think it bothers him

Re: Danny Rose
I think the abuse that players who are leftovers from last year get on here probably pales the managers comments into insignificance.
Even with a supposed 'clean slate', if you're a player who'd read for 12 months on here that 'he's 5hit', 'not fit to wear the shirt', 'stealing a wage' etc etc, how motivated would you be this season?
As an example I'd suggest Harper - got dogs abuse for months last season, is still getting it now. What motivation does he have to give his all every Saturday? And, in my opinion, 'professional pride' only goes so far - would you (if you're Harper) give 100% in every 50/50 challenge when your perception is that the fans hate you?

Re: Danny Rose
Probably why he used so many players last season. However in this league suspect won’t have as much time to chop and change as NLN. And to loose a player of quality hope he has lined someone up can do a job at this level.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2026 6:56 pmHe has been very damming and very scathing about anything and everything about the c club last season since he came in players included. Re: Danny Rose
The couple of grand he picks up a month is his motivation like any other footballer.. We know Harper is the same, after the 1-0 loss to Harrogate last season he walked off the pitch laughing at fans. Hilarious wasn’t it?donny bluebird wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2026 8:10 pmAs an example I'd suggest Harper - got dogs abuse for months last season, is still getting it now. God knows how he is still here , no wonder people don’t forgive with that sort of behaviour and attitude

Re: Danny Rose
I'm not defending that behaviour, but his wage gets paid whether he plays or not (like Barkhuizen (Sp?)), so maybe wages aren't everything?LewisBAFC1901 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2026 10:04 pmThe couple of grand he picks up a month is his motivation like any other footballer.. I guess I'm trying to suggest a more positive, encouraging atmosphere/environment on here to help the squad along - God knows the boss has his work cut out, they could do with all the help they can get!

Re: Danny Rose
IMO he's blaming players for his shortcomings.
He's signed 10? Most of whom are involved weekly and it isn't going to plan......so blame last seasons players.
See how it pans out up to Christmas but currently I'm not convinced by his tactics or motivational skills.

Owes him more than a pint. Managing to get a 5 figure payout on his barrow contract and then getting him a 2 year deal on good money. People must wet themselves on the ongoings within barrow afcBig_Bluebird wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2026 10:43 pm Good bye. Stunk the spot out. 2 year deal at nearly 33 he owes his agent a pint

Surely if Exeter wanted him we could've either sold him for a few bob or let him go on a free....
