Fair does, I accept you don't want him but it's still going to [SwearFilter] you off that he walked out on you for Barrow, just like Matt Henney did.

Probably end up nicking any players you have that are worth taking too. Is Jackson on contract?

Not really glad to be rid, as for taking players didn't they all turn you down in the summer? As for Matt he only left because
Tommy didn't want him. Poor little barrow can only get a manager workington don't want
You're not doing a very good job of disguising your ire.

Just face it, it Wukkie have something we want, we take it.

Workington Reds are in advanced talks with a proven Conference North goalscorer as they finally aim to replace Jonny Wright and Gareth Arnison.

The void has been left unfilled since the attacking duo quit the club this summer, but boss Darren Edmondson is confident he can bring in a striker ahead of Saturday’s clash with Colwyn Bay.

Wright and Arnison were the mainstay of Edmondson’s team since he took over from Tommy Cassidy in 2007.

Both men scored crucial goals, which kept Workington in the Conference North.

Since their departure – Arnison to Barrow, and Wright to Wealdstone – Workington have struggled in front of goal, scoring just 17 goals in 15 outings this term.

The man Edmondson hopes to attract to Borough Park has been a huge hit in the Conference Premier, attracting international honours with England C team.

Edmondson wants to get his signature on loan terms by the end of the week, and said: “We have a few irons in the fire at the minute, but there is one man we’d love to be part of our squad.

“He’s a goal scorer, which we have lacked since Jonny and Gareth left.

“He would lift spirits at the club because we know he would put the ball in the back of the net.

“We’ve created chances this season, but not finished them off. It’s a problem we’re fully aware of.”

The striker Edmondson is chasing likes to hold the ball up, but also work the channels.

He has played in the Football League, and is currently with a Conference Premier outfit.
This sounds like one of our former players Barrowfan.

Reading that description and noticing that he wasn't involved Tonight I'd say it could well be one of our former players

Better be sometime today, driving me crackers this now.

No more winding up Chris either Ste and Nipps  , I believed the text he sent me telling me who it was, and had to explain to staff an why I randomly shouted NO! in the middle of a meeting.

Like Kieran says, if it's Edmondson, I'm not unhappy with that- it's a bit of a change, to be honest we just need to stabilise and regroup off the park. It's a good time for him to come in as a manager I think. Bayles by hanging on has probably done him a favour there- only fly in the ointment is that the squad are all Manc/Scouse/Telford typr contacts and we might end up having to rebalance mid season, not ideal.

if it is Edmondson then good luck to him. Initially underwhelmed as they are doing no better than us and don't strike me as being a team who play attractive stuff. Let's hear what he has to say about his plans to develop the football..... If it is going to be him.

What if he comes here and they got Bayliss!
