Good question Matt.
I think that's a mischievious post (at best) [SwearFilter] stirring (at worst) Mike when I've already answered the question. It's got nothing at all to do with whether we do, or dont get the development, it's to do with MAINTAINING the ground.
Ian, not sure how my post appears after yours, I could have sworn i posted it directly after Matt's, so not too sure what happened there and can not remember as it was last week, maybe i did not refresh my lap top or summat ?

Ian as you know mate i call a spade, a spade, but in this case its just a misunderstanding, i only wish i was still living locally as i would be there helping out where ever i could.

Respect & Thanks for everyone's hard work with this very important issue but especially to you Ian for getting things happening :D

That's fine.

I know you call thing's how you see them & that's why I thought it a little "out of order" when seeing you question something that'd already been explained but I can understand how that happened now.

Thank's for the explanation Mike.

BTW Mike, Just saw Col's & his Dad at the game today, haven't seen him in year's.

Thanks to Oldtimer for supplying some materials needed at the maintainance area & to JCubb for transporting & offering help with other things in the future. Also thanks to Goodcopbadcop for dropping off the generator yesterday.

Edmondsons Electrical have as I already mentioned donated quite a lot of gear that there was no way we could have afforded & was way above what I was hoping for but we are really in need of an electrician to help out with fitting what they are supplying.
If you are an electrician or know one (there must be electricians who don't come on here that go to HS) that can help us out with connecting & fitting these components can you please PM or reply on here.

This whole maintainance thing is really taking off through the generosity of people both on & off here but don't let it stop now, there are still things on my previous posts that we need, please take another look. If it's not on there but you have something that you think could help us out drop me a PM.

Would the club let you have a page in the programme one game to advertise for equipment/skills needed?

That's not a bad idea, I'll ask John & see what he say's.

I suppose it's worth asking if they could make some sort of announcement for volunteers at half time during a home match. After all, what we do on here get's read by.....what 15-20% of the supporters we should be trying to reach.

Has been done, but yes, run it again would be a good idea- now things are taking off. What about a matchday programme / main site feature to show what has been done, what is being done, with a few photo's before and after etc- so fans can see things are happening. Maybe a volunteers section on the main site?? so ongoing work / volunteer requests can be advertised.

I've been taking photo's from the start Jonty with just that sort of thing in mind, can't do too much with them at the moment because it basically only shows that we've skipped a massive amount of rubbish & the beginings of what will be the first work area.
Give it another month & I would hope to see things really taking shape.

I'm going to open another topic with a view to raising some money for some of the items that we don't seem to be able to get hold of.
I hope you all will give it a little thought & we can try & make it as succsessful as this topic has so far been.

If the mod's think they should be merged then that's fine by me but it'd be appreciated if we could leave it seperate for a week or so just in case people think they've done all they can for this & perhaps don't read new post's.

Thanks to Nigel Bamford who went to the trouble of dropping a wheelbarrow off for us tonight before the game & has actually passed on our request for tools to a friend who might be able to help us out.

I might have another offer or two from a local business & business man so I'll be looking into that more in the next week or so.
If they both come off it'd be a massive help to what's going on in the maintenance area & save quite a bit of money.

Just sorted the concreting problem out this afternoon with a very generous offer off Peter Schofield (Schofield Construction) who will be sending some of his people down to shutter the work area out & then concrete the floor.

This was a building up to be quite a problem for us so thanks to Peter for his help.

I hope to have something sorted with another company shortly who are looking into helping us out with certain things that we still require.

Still desperate for a lecy & a flat back van for transporting some stuff from the shipyard to the ground. It would be a massive help if either you, or someone you know will help us out fitting some electrical items (wire's, socket's, light's etc) This is going hold everything up if we can't get someone in to help out as there is no way we could pay someone to come in & do it, we'd be there to do the scivying, all we need is for them to tell us what to do & connect everything up.

Managed to get hold of some metal lockers from the yard to lock the equipment away in but still need an offer of help on transporting them to the ground, can anyone help out?

The electrician situation is getting pretty desperate now, You might of heard the announcement for help regarding this at the match on Tuesday but so far no one has been in touch. As I've mentioned before, we'll do all the skivying we just need someone to connect the wires together properly :)
If you know of anyone who can help out please drop me or mrsenario a PM.

I thought there was an offer of services for the electrician situation? It is absolutely crucial that all the electrical appliances / tools etc being used are verified as safe to use through the appropriate testing. If these appliances are faulty and there's an accident then the club could be liable for allowing an avoidable accident to occur on club premises.

For all the goodwill in the world it is crucial that these things are checked out and verified as safe to use.

Perhaps a wider appeal beyond the forum is needed for this one?

Any fans with good connections with an approved electrical contractor who may be able to help out with this one. Worth a season ticket for these sort of services?

Or maybe even worthwhile giving Furness College a shout? They run 17th edition regs courses and perhaps that could be a good place to put an advert seeking qualified electrician support?

Where did that come from Jonty & to who? I'm really struggling on this one now & don't really know how to move it forward as I was hoping for some help off here.

I absolutely do not want to get into all of that even though I understand what your saying, but from my (limited) knowledge of H&S reg's, once we open them door's nothing will get done at all, it's hard enough in BAE to get permission to use a hammer without having six H&S rep's watching over you with a camera & some red & white tape.

How do we get around people helping out around the ground without going through H&S reg's? what if they fall over?

Just keep it to volunteers & get on with it otherwise it stops before it even start's.
