Re: Barrow Transfer embargo...?
The BOD are a DISGRACE and are dragging this club down ! Surely its them wasting the money on things like the ground study and not Bayliss on players ????
Re: Barrow Transfer embargo...?
Got no chance of staying up if this stays in place for the window! Are there any point deductions for embargos?

Re: Barrow Transfer embargo...?
As bad as all this is, and there's no getting around the fact it could be disastorous for our BSP future, to everyone calling for the BoD's to be sacked/step down I've a question or two -
How many of you are MEMBERS who could actually vote anyone off? not too many judging by the membership we currently have.
If you are a member that would vote them off, give me a clue who would step up & take this sort of shit?
I've supported the club for twenty seven years & wouldn't give up my free time to put up with some of the crap that flies around.
I'm not for one moment defending the BoD's blindly just asking who else would do it, would you, I doubt it, so where are all these new board members coming from?

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

It is a thankless task, but as someone said elsewhere rather brilliantly, they are running it like a family business. They could delegate just about everything that needs to be done but they want to keep everything in-house whether they can cope with those day-to-day demands or not.

Re: Barrow Transfer embargo...?
If we are under some sort of sanction it would be interesting to know the reason it has been imposed.
BK denied it was about an unpaid tax bill. It may relate to the late or non-payment of players, but other clubs in the past have had a transfer embargo imposed for the late filing of annual accounts!

I hope Brian didn't blame the accountants and sure he didn't. I know better than most its a tough old role, hopefully Tony and Tony find a solutionBingo wrote:We don't have anyone doing that because to have a chief exec or commercial manager costs money which we don't have but in the long run not having someone running things properly costs you more in my opinion.Always Ultra wrote: Who's job is it to maximise current revenue streams, and to open up new ones?
But I do agree with what Reg says we all need to try and pull together now but I find it difficult to trust this board now.

No, he didn't blame them. He referred to them but he didn't pin any blame on them.

Re: Barrow Transfer embargo...?
The Conference's Financial rules state that member clubs must provide proof that they've paid their tax bills. Failure to provide this proof will result in the member club having a transfer embargo placed on them until they can provide proof they've paid their tax bill and I think this is where the problem may have arisen in the recent signing.
I'm not denying we're struggling financially or backing the board (ffs heaven forbid
) but this rule has been in place for a couple of seasons now since the Chester fiasco to force clubs to pay their taxes and not continue to buy players they couldn't afford. Clearly we were late paying the tax bill and this could well be the reason why there may be a transfer embargo by the Conference because we still haven't provided the proof we've paid it and the comments that it will be sorted next week will be true if the bill has been paid but until then its wait and see. Either way the clubs communication is a joke if we tried to sign a player when we still have an embargo on us. The way things have been recently I have my doubts about a lot of what has been said by the board.
As Reg and Ste have said cool heads are required but if it isn't sorted soon then I'll be joining everyone else on here asking the same questions. Transfer embargos are only put on for non-payment of taxes (HMRC & VAT), non-payment of players wages and other football debts. I'd like to know how long the delay actually is as that would give an indication of how far behind we are with the payments? We know the players have been paid (admittedly it was late) from previous comments from Bayliss. To correct previous posts if we don't pay the printers, caterers, utility bill or whatever then we can't have a transfer embargo put on us for that.

I think it was Always Ultra who put it in them term's which as you say Gary, is quite a clever way of wording the situation at the club at the moment but my question(s) still stand -Wintergreen wrote:1234 wrote:bang on spirit of 1990,thankless task

How many are members who want the BoD's to step down?
Who would step in & take all the shit that comes with doing this job on a voluntary basis?
Would you, if you became a director be willing/able to put in a loan to the club? (not a requirement I admit but it happens)
No taker's so far!
The present BoD's on the whole do a fantastic job, their two biggest dowfall's are not asking for help when they quite obviously need it & communication.
I said this over a year ago on here, the BoD's is very lightweight in numbers, probably the smallest amount number-wise that we've had for quite a few years, is that their fault or our's that no one seem's to want to put themselves forward?
There's plenty of moaning on here about it......let's see who put themselves forward at the AGM.

He didn't blame the accountants Martin, he just said they were surprised as well (I think it was something like that)Gen Man wrote:I hope Brian didn't blame the accountants and sure he didn't.
There was definitely no blame put with them though.
