Well done to the lads last night.
Not taking anything away from them but Woking didn't look anything
like I expected but maybe that's because
we held them
I was amused to read a report which said there
was a brace for Danny Rowe.
Must be confusing for these out of town Journos!

Good win and much needed as on the night 3 out of the bottom 4 win.
Good defensive display similar to the Luton game, players putting themselves in front of the ball and getting back as a team unlike Saturday. Barrow took advantage of mistakes and piled on early pressure which got the first goal, Barrow looked fairly comfortable for the rest of the game, the 2nd goal and sending off finished off Woking as a threat. Barrow's defending limiting them to a couple of long range efforts in the 2nd one of which left the ground and probably landed on the railway lines he hit it so hard.
Woking looked jittery and inexperienced or at least that was how they behaved. Some weak clearances, poor headers and passing let Barrow put them under pressure when they should easily have cleared the danger. They reminded me a lot of Macclesfield in the FA Cup, thought they were Barcelona and could play out from the back. When closed down they did not complete passes out of defence and went into panic mode making silly mistakes. All in all Hurst was little troubled for most of the game only a few poor efforts on target. Could have been very different had the lob/shot in the first few seconds of the match gone in, Hurst was too far out and the shot had the right height to sneak in under the bar but was yards wide. I think Woking were banking on an early to demoralise Barrow but they rushed it too much and gave Barrow space to counter.
M Rowe's goal from Harvey's pass was well taken. Reminded me of Brown on the opening day against Oxford all them years ago, good through ball and a neat flick into the net as the keeper came out. Bizarre ref, allowed players to push one another over with shoulder charges and trips but gave nothing, then gave a free kick for their defender putting two hands on L Rowe. He hardly touched him, we got a free kick and scored. Excellent finish from 25 yards slightly left of D, over the wall and into the net near post top corner, keeper had no chance.

Nice one L Rowe. I told my friend at half time some one is going to be sent off as he is letting the players do almost anything and someone will eventually go too far. The number of handballs by Woking was unbelievable, usually from players falling over and grabbing the ball as Barrow continued play. He only gave one free kick for a handball which was a two handed block by a Woking player charging down a Skelton boot it up fielded. Some of the other handballs right in front of the assistant ref were ignored even though they all stopped Barrow attacks.
I did not see the challenge for the sending off I was watching the ball up the other end, someone next to me said he just kept his foot out with studs showing and followed through on Ruthers very late. Ruthers was limping for a fair amount afterwards and was subbed 10mins later, Hoskins post match interview said he needed a bit of work on the injury caused.
Very nice to see Barrow putting pressure on after getting the 1st goal instead of trying to sit back and attack on the break. Shame after the sending off we did not press for a 3rd. Poor crowd of 624 but you can not blame people after the dire performance against Nuneaton. The general mood of people saying we are already relegated when there is still a lot to play for has also taken it's toll. They missed an excellent 1st half and decent 2nd which included a top goal from a free kick. They need to get another result on the road now, Lincoln is a tough one but not impossible.

Hyde have only picked up 1 point from their last seven games. Definitely catchable. Lets hope Louis doesn't have the same effect he had on his first stint here.

Any news on Ruthers? Seemed to be having a good game last night.

The only thing that really got on my nerves last night were the Popular Side Boo Boys, everytime Ruthers had the ball he was hurled with insults and ended up shouting something back to the crowd. He had a good game last night, but getting on his back will just knock his confidence!

There's two blokes that stand behind me, Tweedledee and [SwearFilter]. All they ever do is shout abuse at poor Ruthers, band out of order. I lost my cool a few weeks back after they barracked Ruthers, told them to shut the [SwearFilter] up. Someone shouted back 'good on you'.
It's 'support' like this I can well live without. The players at this level will never achieve that consistency that some supporters believe they should. It's the reason they play BSBP football. If they were world beaters they wouldn't be here. Simple as!

Played as team last night glad to say , 2 good goals and deserved to win ,only downside for me was our deep defending which we have a habit of doing.......

Superb through ball from Harvey to put D M Rowe in for the goal.
Timed to perfection after doing well to win the ball in his own half.

And on RC they were still chattering on about something Hurst had done when they said "Oh, Danny Rowe's scored".

Also a superb run from Rowe, sprinting to get into position for the pass.

Where do they stand? I might come and join you and drown their vile taunts out with the old rattle. Should do the trick. No wonder Ruthers gave a gratefull smile when he was over on the stand side and got some positive ENCOURAGMENT!!!!!

You wonder why these people go to games dont ya, they pay their money must want Barrow to do well yet they throw abuse at players knowing full well it can only have a negative effect on the player. They cant be the sharpest tool in the box can they.
