OK, so in your opinion we shouldn't criticise people who in your opinion are "trying to fix it". Have I got that right??

So we should just ignore the fact that they are making an absolute pigs ear of "trying to fix it", yes??

No. I do believe that shouting criticism from the sidelines whilst offering no suggestions or alternatives is not the most constructive approach.

Honest answer, I don't know how to fix it.
The answer is not simply to criticise the people who are trying to do something. You might not like everything they do but they are trying to fix it.
y .
If they are trying to fix it, why have they done nothing commercially all summer. Again

Fair enough, but neither is simply ignoring it and not criticising at all.

Barrow lacked any punch up front but looked reasonably solid at the back. Midfield misplaced a lot of passes and looked like complete strangers which they are I suppose. Mills looked out of it most of the time. Bowen won a lot in the air but looked alone up front, Arnison was AWOL. Johnson looked like he was going to open them up late on but the ref kept inexplicably giving free kicks against him and anyone he passed the ball to. Central defensive pairing cleared almost everything and Brackley created only a couple of chances all game. Sadly so did Barrow and it needs addressing. Only when Johnson came on did we look dangerous, and he is only with us for a month. Moyo on as a midfielder was confusing and worrying as well.

Overall if Brackley is supposedly one of the best sides in this division then we have nothing to fear. Once the side has played more games with a settled side and they get to know each other things should improve. Oh and Brackley are no good in the rain, they only started to play when it dried up.

They never had one to be disallowed, the commentary we got on the radio was appallingly poor today.

The so called disallowed goal was nothing more than a player flagged offside well outside the box who with the whistle already blown continued into the box, with Barrow players no longer pursueing. With everyone waiting, the Brackley player with the ball hit it across the box to his team mate who had also continued his run. Rather than leave it or give it to the keeper, he tamely tapped it goalward into the net. Not a disallowed goal in a million years play had stopped long before, WAKE UP AND WATCH THE GAME BBC RADIO CUMBRIA. Seen many players booked for playing on for that long, but that was never going to happen today. Ref let Brackley get away with a lot of similar antics like kicking the ball down the field a number of times at 1-0 to stop Barrow taking quick throws.

I always knew the standard of refs would take a dive with relegation but not as much as today. I hope the ref we got today was the runt, he was totally uninterested in applying basic laws of the game. Even the Brackley players were up in arms at times, the liners missed a lot of shirt holding right in front of them as well.

Until the BOD as a whole stop regarding the fans as a necessary evil nothing will change.

Yesterday's performance was dreadful, simply dreadful, and it's hardly surprising folk come on here letting of steam. I'm sure Bayliss will be horrified at the performance and will not be so complacent as to dismiss it a new team taking time to gel.

We were poor but he won't know his strongest first 11 yet with it being practially a new side. I felt a bit for Reynolds being left out. He had featured all pre-season, worked hard alongside Williams and I thought he'd start. Plus his long throw ins could cause problems. O'Donnell turns up and comes straight into the side. Then he brought Cliff on- yes ok- but why take Arnison off?? 1-0 down and chasing the game and he brings off someone who has been top goalscorer for Workington. He needed just one chance which hadn't come all game- not his fault he was getting no service. Not a great confidence boost for Reynolds / Arnison.

I think they played nervously yesterday, the weather was the worst we've had all summer, they didn't want to make mistakes and it was a tough start against a settled side. Got to hope they can put it right.

Barrow V A team called Brackley

I think the writing was on the wall regarding our lack of attacking threat during our last three friendlies. I hoped a competitive game might be different, but it wasn't to be. Opening games are never much of a guide tho - much fancied Guiseley lost 3-1 at home and Stockport even worse, I don't expect either to be struggling all season.
Have you ever thought what a wonderful world it would be without enthusiastic people.

Has a member of the board ever been to check up on the team training ? For all we know they could be just sat around eating crisps and pop and playing on xbox's ! After last season and todays performance I'd be looking into it :D

Not surprised Arnison came off, he hardly did anything all game. Mostly because we did not get the ball to him, when he did get it he was easily dispossessed. He'll be a marked man due to his time at Workington. Mills had a similar game but got stuck in a few times and won the ball back in a few defensive actions, stopping them getting forward. All defensive action instead of attack for someone on the wing is a bad sign. Not good at all when your attack is struggling to attack. :(

What a difference in standards from Conference National to Skrill North. I know it is only one game but the standard of football looks miles apart from where we were last season. Both teams looked almost stationary in comparison to even the most sedate games we saw last season.

It will take time but we will get there, just don't take as long as Phil Wilson's rebuild to start playing well or we really are in trouble.

Guiseley result is a shock but Stockport are in the same boat as us. New squad, some decent players on the books but an unrealistic high expectation for them to get results from the off. Talking promotion at the first attempt for a side on a voyage to the bottom of the divisions, relegated 3 times in the last 4 seasons (I've not checked, is that true?) is silly. Certain thing is they have more money to put it right.

We play 2 of the best sides from last season in the opening games, realisticly we should have 0 points after 2 games in our situation. Still hoping to have something after Tuesday though.

What's your views on yesterday's first game attendance- 884 It was 3rd highest in the league- unsuprisingly Stockport and Telford had the highest attendances. Maybe 40 away fans, but nevertheless- under 1000 for first home league game isn't great. Historically it always drops off after the first game. Will that be enough to get us on a better financial footing.
