Haworth put a shift in , carried the ball well at times , not so at times! If only he can look up and pick out a pass !! Then again if he could do that he'd be in League football! He'll get a 7 in tomoro's evening mail

Did anyone on here who went miss the kick off?

With only 2 turnstiles (operating very slowly) instead of the usual 3 operating on the popular, Wilkie Road stand I got in walked up the steps and they kicked off. Behind me there was at least 100+ still queuing when the game started. To relieve the pressure stewards allowed season ticket holders in via the gate but there was only a handful and it made little difference.

He must have given the ball away at least 11 times last night

I missed the first 2-3 minutes, and even then the queue was down to about the garage doors. The right turnstile had run out of printed tickets when I went through.

Played great Williams! Reminded me of Rio Ferdinand the way he brought the ball out of defence! Howarth's been involved in a lot of our goals , he can keep hold of the ball well when he wants too!

Just got back after a very dark drive home. The steam coming out of my ears has dissipated, so time for a few thoughts:

** Barrow were an awful side to watch; their main tactic for most of the first half appeared to be a huge hoof from the goalkeeper (and I mean huge - to the edge of our box without it bouncing on several occasions) followed by a chasing pack, the aim being to head the ball straight past the opposing keeper or to flick it on to another pack member. Having said that, they were quite clever around the box once they brought the ball out of orbit and caused us problems. Lincoln were defending 5 to 10 yards too far up the pitch, and the ball was simply clearing our midfield and causing our back-pedaling defenders to struggle to clear. Like watching Wimbledon in their Dave Bassett-inspired excess, I haven't seen a team play like that for 35 years. Playing like that, Barrow will win home matches but haven't a prayer of winning away. Crude.
** Despite Barrow's 1980-81 long ball tactics, Lincoln never got to grips with it and they could (and should) have been 5-0 down at half time. Profligate finishing and Paul Farman saved us.
** Farman good enough for L2? Yes, and above. Enjoy him while he is still here.

** Team selection for tonight was simply wrong. That worries me a lot.
** Simmons looks far too lightweight and could be shrugged off the ball by Gandhi. But unlike Robinson and Everington, I think he has something about him; not sure exactly what, though.
** Having young local players in the team is great, but only if they are good enough. Ours are not.
** Rhead hardly won anything in the air; marked (and fouled) out of the game.
** Barrow's time wasting was incredible; only 5 minutes added on? Should have been 10 and more.
** Wood was our best defender by a mile; worryingly, he was our best striker by a mile too.
** We could have played til midnight and not scored.
** I'm afraid we look 20 points short of a play off place, perhaps more on that evidence. I only hope Liam Hearn can get fit because we have no one to replace him.
** All in all, a pretty depressing night. So glad I spent £50 on that.

I think he is right about us being awful to watch and points at home will be a lot easier to get than they will away.

Just strange he has said that when thats the least route one Ive seen us this season.

Enjoyed performance last night much more confident display still long ball hoof at times but better passing and good defending especially both the Williams.Thought Howarth bustled about well.Lincoln one dimensional ball to the number nine lump and hope for best with occasional long throw ins.Not a pretty game to watch but better than recent performances.Well done team and management.Saw Lincoln supporter comments agree with some but from their display words pot and kettle come to mind.Looking forward to Saturday.
