Watched him for most of the season and he is consistent enough for me.He is awkward to play against with some teams putting two men on him.The games he has played in as a lone striker he has battled hard for little reward and he has finished the season in the leading scorer's charts. So for me carry on Andy at Barrow.barrowfan wrote:Spot on! Perhaps even two of them for the same money! For me Cooky is not consistent enough, and is sometimes too greedy. No problem if he leaves - there are better out there.Bluey VIII wrote:
Cooky's a good player but I think Cox probably has an ace up his sleeve and will be able to bring in someone just as good, if not better!! .

Re: Andy Cook
He's finished third highest Goal scorer and suits our style perfectly. So if he goes, we need a similar type of player to come in.

Williams for Walker who for me is a bench warmer next season

Interesting that the much-vaunted Mr Bogle only scored 13 at Grimsby.Jonty wrote:He's finished third highest Goal scorer and suits our style perfectly. So if he goes, we need a similar type of player to come in.

Re: Andy Cook
I know radio and club say they will have a answer from cooky this week. But if football league have still got another week to go till end of its season I don't think cooky will make a decision till end of May and clubs know if relegated or promoted and what budgets they have.
In saying that I do hope he stays, he suits barrow game and is loved by the fans, going to a league club may not be what he needs if wanting to be the number 1 and playing every week
Big decision for the lad to make

Re: Andy Cook
As the Danny Livesy interview confirmed, Cookie needs to be loved and #1 on the team sheet, Would he instantly get that elsewhere, doubtful, L2 fans would probably prefer a L1 or L2 proven goal scorer and many fans of these sides would view a signing from the NL scene as a (Meh) signing, The informed ones would understand they could have a good signing on their hands but it still leaves him starting off as a enigma to many.
Another dynamic could be who we are bringing in, The clubs on record to improve the team & we will already have signings lined up on the quiet as is the unwritten norm in Football.
Would Cookie see a big name forward signing as a threat to his crown or see him as a challenge to keep his crown as our Number 1 Striker?
Hope he realizes what he has here & where we're going as a club & signs on again, if not thanks for the goals & the radio memories.

Hearn is bumming about in the Conference North, certainly not pulling up any trees with Harrogate. Made some daft comments after his loan here, Lincoln fans despise him and he fell out with Harrogate's boss - bad news all round.Bluey VIII wrote: Cooky's a good player but I think Cox probably has an ace up his sleeve and will be able to bring in someone just as good, if not better!! Matt Rhead perhaps?? I don't think we've seen the last of Liam Hearn either.....both of which would be more than adequate to replace Cooky....
I always liked Southwell from Boston, but maybe we should be aiming higher?

Re: Andy Cook
Loosing Cook would be a blow - proven goalscorer, and more importantly a reliable goalscorer: it always feels like he's got a goal in him, no matter the game - none of this "confidence striker" nonsense, he just scores goals.
More importantly I'd miss his attitude, he turns up and puts in a shift every single time - I can't fault his work rate once since he's been here, he just plays.
If he goes to a L2 or even L1 club then fair play to him, I'd do the same - but I'd be delighted if he was here next season.

Re: Andy Cook
I thought there would have been an update by now seeing as the owner was looking to get an answer on Saturday night.
Re: Andy Cook
He will have got his answer - they'll probably wait until he's signed on the dotted line before putting anything out.Lancaster Branch wrote:I thought there would have been an update by now seeing as the owner was looking to get an answer on Saturday night.
Re: Andy Cook
Not sure even yet as to what Cookey will do...the longer we wait [till the FL season finishes] the easier it is to identify what our prized asset will do.

Surely he should be signing it there and then.
