Left the ground happy as Larry! Father in law who travels from Blackburn had his most enjoyable day at HS so far and then to bread this just takes the shine right off it! Don't like the fact we call the culprits "fans" they are clearly not! They are just knuckle dragging neanderthals who have no place in football! We often have a slurp of a beer at the tally ho before a match as it's handy for car parking so making reference to thugs being there is unfair not to just genuine folk like us but also to the establishment! We didn't see anyone cause any bother there.. we didnt get there till 2.15 so can't comment on earlier times? I love banter, I love to scream and shout but this kind of behaviour is not welcome! I just hope that the people hurt realise that the incident really does have nothing to do with the club and real fans, I hope that they have a speedy recovery. I hope that people of York do not take this as an opportunity to come along and retaliate at their end. If I saw who it was, or if I saw anything happen I would have waded in and given the little shuts a slap myself or assisted the police in naming then and bringing them to justice! Nothing but a custodial sentence will be good enough! On a positive note. ..well done to the lads on the pitch! Well done to the choir for making some noise.. let's hope that people statutory take notice of the efforts on the pitch and push the attendances through the roof! Let's not have incidents like thisome spoil it for for our club, players and fans!

Thought the club would have made a statement about this by now. Especially as the owner is over.

We have a 'history' when we play York and I can understand the large police escort but why was one of the buses allowed to enter town at 11.00 and by all accounts go around town provoking people? The culprits when found will be dealt with and at the same time found out to have not attend the match or planned to,both sets of supporters must now say enough is enough, for what ever happens to Barrow fans at York will only be repeated when we play them at home again.(if we do not get promoted

)
I was watching those kids standing by the segregated fence on and off during the match and the York fans didn't respond to anything and just got on with watching the game. They got fed up in the end and wandered off. Perhaps to make their way to the ambush point?
I can only remember one incident with the York fans and it was as described above a good few years ago but surely we and they have moved on from those days. We were sat with the York fans in the stand and one guy in particular was more interested in abusing their manager than any one else. It got a bit embarrassing really as there was total silence all around so he could have been heard quite clearly.

As a Supporter of BARROW AFC for 65+ years I am appalled and apologise to these good away supporters for the actions of a minority. Do not think that this is the norm at HS.
They weren't good
BEFORE the game. I was receiving texts last night from friends asking if there had been trouble at the match? Apparently groups of York fans were causing trouble in the town centre pubs before the game and goading Barrovians - many of whom weren't even football fans.
I don't agree with stoning coaches containing women and kids.
I also don't agree with idiots coming to our town and causing trouble with the locals.
I feel sorry for the injured people on those coaches and hope there is no long term health injuries - either physical or psychological. However, I think part of the blame should be directed to those York City
'Fans' who came to Barrow intent on causing trouble. The same thing happened last time they visited...

Good response from the club.Hope there is enough evidence against the two arrested for them to be charged and dealt with accordingly.Obviously a life ban is the least of their worries.

Hello all, as one of the York fans on board the coach which had two windows put through yesterday afternoon, I just wanted to say thanks for the kind messages from everyone on this forum and other Barrow fans on various social media platforms. All of us on board yesterday are adamant that the morons responsible are not a fair representation of the genuine supporters at your club, and as such none of us lot hold any grudges towards Barrow AFC that is for sure. They were a bunch of young cowards who soon scarpered when we stopped the bus. I know one or two said that they spotted the group inside the ground during the game, but that they were more intent on goading the away fans than watching what was a routine, and deserved victory for your side. It's a shame these 'people' hide behind a good community asset such as a football club to cause such trouble.
Thankfully, I am pleased to report that we are all okay, and that the two who were injured were treated at Furness General Hospital and are now doing okay it seems. Everyone was absolutely superb with us, the police, paramedics, and the bus company who sent a new bus over the M62 in horrible conditions to come and pick us up. We had to wait until quarter to eleven by the time we were able to depart, but once we had been to A&E and had given our statements to the police, we found a couple of cracking bars nearby where the locals were very friendly and good with us. After all, we are just a friendly bunch of York fans who enjoy a drink before the game, doing our best to support our team given how disillusioned most of us actually are with our football club at the moment. I am sure that if and when York City are to visit Holker Street again in the future, this incident will not put us off from visiting as normal

That's a good post and very understanding after what they went through, it could've been far far worse, thankfully it wasn't.
What makes this even more sickening is what happened to Barrow supporters at Atherstone a couple of years back. This group of young kids that have reared their ugly heads in recent seasons need identifying and handing life bans plus whatever the courts can do.
After going unbeaten in seven and moving up to third in the table, this is what yesterday will be remembered for and what the headlines will be about tomorrow.
An utter embarrassment to themselves and the town.

I'm not talking about the coaches that were attacked. I'm talking about the pre-match incidents.
You think visiting a town (apparently)to cause trouble before a football game is acceptable behaviour?
You believe that provoking people (apparently) is acceptable behaviour?
You don't believe that provocation may, and sometimes, does lead to retaliation from the provoked?
You think a section of York's 'Fans' aren't partly to blame?
Okay.
Do you believe that those coaches would have been attacked if there had been no pre-match incidents?

I was asking 32 mile...
But thanks for your interest.
Can I ask you why?
I can't remember any other visiting team's coaches being attacked this season...

bricking coaches is wrong under ANY provocation. York fans are not to blame under any circumstance 100% our Neanderthals to blame and nobody else.

York fans are not at all to blame for being pelted by rocks on a minibus, for gods sake!
And definitely think that it would have happened either way.
