Seen too many games like that this year, absolute garbage; you see better football played on the local fields. We are going nowhere now so would it hurt to get a bit of width, get the ball down and play a bit. We have actually paid good money to watch a "game of football".

And what the hell does Cox have his players doing in training?

Hoofing the ball out of the facility?

Trying to bring aircraft down?

What then?

Don't tell me they practice smashing the ball aimlessly forward all week long?

Highly unprofessional, unimaginative, totally inadequate and utterly unwatchable - see you all next season suckers!!

Couldn't agree more. Sums up our recent home "performances" perfectly.

As well as Hughes and Bennett, Livesey may be out for Tuesday according to the radio...

Weird how fans didn't have a problem with the style of play when it produced Narrow wins.

Believe it or not but its pretty much the same football we endured over Edmo.

Sick of watching hoofball and players with no idea if that's the best Cox can get them to play then he should go, but he is on a contract so will wait to be payed off, the tactics are clueless you can watch better football on the training pitch before the game, with Cox manager next season nothing will change another awful season watching hoofball, the only time the ball is on the floor is before the game when the ball is knocked around and at half time, having watch Tranmere on TV last night Cooky will be rubbing his hands looking forward to Tuesday night.

Where was Jack Thomas at today? Him and Turnbull would make a good midfield combination imho

If we miss out on top 5, I would say that it's because we have simply ran out of steam. Some of these players look like they are running on empty.
On Friday Tranmere had Andy Cook, James Norwood and Jay Harris amongst their substitutes, that is proper squad depth. We have whichever combination of loanee's we select this week

There were some decent half chances into the box today. The sort of balls Cook would have battered his way through to get in the end of. Alas, no one there, no- one with a powerful leap with pace and aggression to get there first. That is what is missing In front of goal. You can see how we've missed him as he suits our style perfectly.

I also thought they had a good shout for a penalty turned down as well second half. In the end their man got a red card. Will have to see that one again.

Have you gone mad?! I wouldn't mind next season consisting of a play off push, 3rd round of the FA Cup, Quatre Final of the FA Trophy and breaking another unbeaten record.

As for style of play, Lincoln lump it to Rhead, Tranmere lump it to Cooky and Cheltenham last year were awful to watch. I'd take a more direct style of play and staying well clear of that Conference North that we have been all too familiar with.

Let's have a bit of perspective on the situation we are in.

why when we all knew Bennett was going to miss 2 matches didn`t Cox bring Effiong on to see how it might work on tuesday?, takes hannah off when jordan williams was having a terrible game !

During the first half there was hardly any movement it was so frustrating if hughes stopped doing petty fowls and arguing with the other teams players instead of concentrating on his own game he might actually be effective, why do we constantly take the same long throws how many headers did we actually win?

there`s something really wrong the players seem scared to take a chance they play to a system and can`t or are not allowed to change it, no wonder the gates are down a former member of this forum people did moan when we won because the football at home apart from a couple of games has been really poor no wonder people are staying away, this is just not good enough

wonder what cliches will be used after this set back

Maybe (just a maybe) it would be better to avoid the playoff scenario. if we did go up are we seriously in any position to do anything in L2? I would imagine not either on the commercial front or indeed financially to match any of the L2 clubs, or certainly most of them?

The remainder of the season could be spent seeing exactly who would be up for the challenge next season, giving contracted players the chance but filling key gaps with loanees where needed. Maybe the management team could start planning now for next season and try a few different tactics, formations, training scenarios etc (for all i know they may do) but we may surprise ourselves if we actually challenge ourselves.

I speculate and throw this out and i cannot comment too much as an exile watching only a handful this season, but if we did go up it could wreck us and if we got involved in playoffs it wouldnt help a great deal apart from a few extra games.

I would start building now for next year........but as mentioned above is Cox`s future with us? I suggest it is and we were simply spoilt for the first part of the season.

Based on expectations at the beginning of the season I would agree with you...but these were raised, perhaps disproportionately, with the run before Christmas. Many fans thought that the squad could be consolidated or improved in January to keep the momentum going.

It didn't happen and it feels like we have gone backwards. This is probably the reality of the financial situation, but as communication has been poor on that front (in respect of the team and the ground improvements) people are wondering what is going on.

With the crowd at just over 1,100 - we are not going to attract any new fans with that style of football. As somebody has already said, I could watch that for free on a Sunday morning.

But that's football or any sports fans at any level in any sport.

Correct, and the reason for that was that as the ball was coming to their guy in the area Hughes was looking everywhere else but at the man or the ball until it was too late and then clearly tripped him.
