Re: Eastleigh v Barrow
[quote="Big E"]Sounded pretty abject today....... leaving Livesey out a mistake I feel, all for rewarding a good performance, but surely our most consistent performer and skipper should have come back in.
Agreed - said that at the beginning.
Radio commentators said it was one of the worst performances this season.

Re: Eastleigh v Barrow
How is it we can put in a decent performance and beat the top teams in our league but we're shite against the likes of Eastleigh,York,Southport,Torquay etc. Baffling.

Apart from livesey , we lack real leaders, we still lack someone in midfield to take the game to the other team and lead by exampleJimmyCrabstick wrote:How is it we can put in a decent performance and beat the top teams in our league but we're shite against the likes of Eastleigh,York,Southport,Torquay etc. Baffling.

Re: Eastleigh v Barrow
Abject probably is the right word Ian.
I always try and be an optimist but the team were devoid of ideas on how to break down a very average Eastleigh side.
I get that we are playing an understrength side at the minute, and struggling to get the balance right with juggling the many loan players around to try and get the formula right. But we looked like we were going through the motions and only Moussa and Danny came out of the game with any credit.
We are really running out of steam at the crucial stage in the season, what would we give for some consistency going into these last ten games.

Re: Eastleigh v Barrow
First time in my trips around southern grounds I've seen Barrow lose in 2 years and the worst performance I've seen in those 2 years. This was an absolute shambles. I can only remember 1 shot on target and that was one in the second half from Williams which crawled through to the golakeeper. Eastleigh were a very poor team but played what little football there was in the game. Their second goal should have been disallowed as Tubbs ran in front of the goalkeeper when he was kicking the ball out of his hands but it was still a schoolboy error by Flatt. I don't think Beeley passed the ball to a Barrow player during the 90 mins but wasn't alone. Anderton was decent but not as good as usual. The midefield and attack was non-existant. IMO, the only players who came out with any credit were the young central defender, Platt and Diarra plus, of course, Livesey when he came on. Why on earth Platt was brought off I can't imagine. Effiong had struggled on his own all match so the obvious thing would have been to bring Livesey on and play 3 central defenders with Beeley and Anderton as wing backs and 2 up front. All in all a complete shambles. I went with my son but also took along a chap who regularly watches Bognor and Havant & Waterlooville in lower level leagues and he said it was the poorest game he's seen all season and couldn't believe how little passing there was in the game! I told him very early on that he wouldn't get much more than that from Barrow because they never pass the pass and always hit everything long.

If you look at the table play offs are within easy reach, albeit the last place. Many things can happen yet but today was a setback.

Andy Wood and Mark Boyd on the radio were equally scathing of the performance. They say it as they see it.Unbiased. So someone is wrong/right.boyliegladbach wrote:russell_anderson wrote: I went with my son but also took along a chap who regularly watches Bognor and Havant & Waterlooville in lower level leagues and he said it was the poorest game he's seen all season and couldn't believe how little passing there was in the game! Not having a go at you GT but this Anderson clown who watches on a few occasions when playing down south and seems to have some secret inside knowledge( in his own weird opinion) of the owners finances annoys me.GTBLUE wrote:Andy Wood and Mark Boyd on the radio were equally scathing of the performance. Andy Wood and Boyd also the performance was down to such a thin squad and not being to change the pattern of play, and that is down the owner not making funds available .
So unless you know Paul Cox was offered money but has turned it the fellas right.
Let's see what happens end of the season and i am not confident.
So put your head in the sand but it does not bode well
