I'm both shocked and surprised that you have managed to bring Fylde up!The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2017 9:26 amA football based appointment for on the pitch activities.mightywhite wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2017 9:16 am People have been moaning (some making reference in this thread) that the directors etc aren't football people. Let the club work out the internal politics.
Paul Ogden isn't a footballing business man who knows how to cast an eye over every penny with regards income and expenditure. He is there to find players and get their contracts ticked off.
If you want an example of an actual footballing businessman look at Neil Joy at Fylde. He has experience as a chief exec from his time at Oldham where he over looked the clubs business operations for 4 years on a tight budget.
That right there is what Barrow are missing at the moment.Commenting on the appointment AFC Fylde Chairman David Haythornthwaite said: “Neil has a wealth of experience and he has been involved with Oldham for many years. Not only does he know how to run a football club but importantly how to run one where every pound is maximised and costs controlled.”

Re: Paul Ogden
Whether Cox is completely happy or not I am obviously not sure, but I do think the Mail has done another grand job of stoking something up here through the type of questioning put to Casson jnr, in the initial article and then printing the follow-up to assure us that Cox is happy about everything, as if to imply he might not be. Personally think it's a positive move by the Club in effectively tying down Paul Ogden longer term and hopefully can lead to more players that have slipped through the grasp, getting over the line in future.
