Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
Try a little army of Volunteers (Not sure if our Prog Sellers, Turnstyle peeps Stewards, would be able to assist) Re Volunteers retired peeps or shift workers or Unemployed etc To go up town or target different big stores before each home game to give out flyers with a stub on it & every collected stub at the turnstyle goes into a prize draw etcBahamasBluebird wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 1:36 pm Myself and Glasgow Blue will be meeting at the statue by McDonalds in town at 12:15 tomorrow for anyone who would like to come along and help.
I agree that ideally this would have been done a few weeks ago, but it's a start, and hopefully it is something that can be built on for the next time we do something similar.
Phil Colliers group recently had street performers in town maybe we could have had a little stand, Stuff like this needs to be repeated a lot over the year & it would be cost effective & slowly produce results & would complement your Social Media outreach.

Your up against that permanently.....Thats why you have to be very proactive, visible & persistent & offer weekly small prizes (Free next game tickets with a 10 quid voucher to spend at the bar or shop x 3 winning tickets & 1 monthly bigger prize, Free ST & 50 quid voucher, make sure the winners get their photo in the NWEM & all over SM & Radio shoutout etcHenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 2:14 pm The main problem is this, a coversation I heard in a chip shop in town Saturday lunchtime

All those idea will work well if implemented right.
Posters on tables in the crossbar will only really appeal to those who go regularly. It won't bring in many new faces and I don't think many will have taken them home with them.
Handing out leaflets would be better done over a dinnertime when BAE / Town centre workers are out on their dinner. If you are going there to hand out to school children and contacting schools then you'll miss the dinner time flurry of workers.
Putting it in the evening mail would be better next to the match report thats published on a monday or a wednesday rather than a footnote on page 12. Barrow will already be on the mind of the reader then.
Can I suggest you use the clubs instagram to promote it? As its been laying dormant for a while and needs a layer of freshness. Put a picture up and tell users to tag a friend for 2 free tickets/shirt . Do a draw for it. Dead easy.
Also have you thought about contact FBS to advertise in store with them? With being passbook based, there is a high level of foot fall in branches and a display stand with the deal on would be noticed.
Question for you, Have you considered helping/assisting/volunteering just 1 or 2 hours a week BB & the media team?
You do have some really good ideas & it must be tiresome knocking the club repeatedly & this way you would be heard & probably end up being a well thought of valued member of the club.
Your thoughts?

Re: Reduced admisson price for Leyton Orient game
It's all been done before, Mike - people coming up with ideas - which the club never act upon...
I miss the Match Day Posters which used to be on Billboards throughout the town during our league days.
I also think there should be a 'Soccer Special' Bus that picks up supporters from specific locations in the town and takes them straight to Holker Street. Apart from allowing people to have a drink instead of driving to and from the game it could be a fantastic 'mobile advertising board' which advertised forthcoming games on each side of the bus and would surely create interest in the town with local people seeing a bus load of fans decked out in shirts and scarves traveling through the streets...
Ideas are put forward - nothing ever happens. You can' t blame me for being cynical.

All the performance centre teams are being introduced at half time on Saturday. Every kid has been given 2 adult tickets so that might put quite a few on the gate.

Brilliant, hope we can get a really good crowd in.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

I believe the idea of a match day bus was looked into but it just wasn't feasible. I will find out more details and do some more research into it myself. The Tomahawk Kid wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2017 3:17 pm So would I. But will it happen? It's Barrow AFC remember?
A big thanks to Mike (Glasgow Blue) for helping me put up and give out some posters around Town this afternoon. A few people we gave them to said they would be interested in going so it's a start.
Mike has offered to put some up before every home game so if anyone else would like to do so let me know, and I will arrange for them to be printed and sent out to you.
I'm determined to get the ball rolling on projects to boost support and get the club more involved in the town, so as I have said previously, if you have any ideas at all send me a PM or see me on a match day.

There is a bus service that passes the ground is there any mileage in speaking to Stagecoach about them having a special price for services that pass the ground?BahamasBluebird wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2017 3:28 pmI believe the idea of a match day bus was looked into but it just wasn't feasible. Good work with marketing today - the poster is great that dave does but really needs to emphasise the price when it's reduced
