Re: Ian Evatt
It’s nonsense. Why would he want to leave at this stage of the season? If Blackpool sack Grayson he’ll be favourite for that position as well.
I really can’t see it happening when he’s doing a great job at Barrow and so close to getting the club promoted.

Re: Ian Evatt
In fairness, it must be a very hard decision for Evatt and if he has one, his agent. Probably one they think about daily.
Re: Ian Evatt
I can’t see Evatt wanting to leave Barrow until he’s got them promoted as that’s his aim.
If he does that, that’s when the danger will come, as he and he agent might see pound signs if other clubs come calling.
However the other possibility is that he might want to stay at Barrow and get them promoted into Division 1, bringing the players on to achieve the best they can. His standing in the league would then soar.
Although he’s recently signed a new contract, he and his agent may be more ambitious than staying with Barrow.
For now let’s all concentrate on supporting Evatt and the team, and trying to get more supporters along and get the lads over the line to promotion.

Re: Ian Evatt
It's a fact life in football these days that the days of managers spending years and years at one club are gone. Especially at this level, where it seems that some chairmen are as impatient and willing to try and buy success/survival as much as any premiership overlord (looking at you fylde). Luckily, we have a manager who is commited, passionate and very good. Success will, inevitably, bring admiring glances Ian's way from clubs higher up the food chain. I think we all know he is destined for greater things and I think he deserves that chance. He has stated many times he is committed to finishing what he started here, and creating a legacy for the future of Barrow AFC. If he achieves the impossible dream, it would be nailed on that a bigger club will come knocking.
He is under contract, so any move would bring (I assume) a good fee for the club.
With all this said, I would be sad to see him go, but he would go with my best wishes and thanks for what he's done here (even as of now, with nothing achieved yet, the football is better than ever, the connection between squad and fans is better, and on the pitch things have more direction and professionalism than ever).
If things go the way we all hope i don't think anybody could begrudge him the chance to carve out a career higher up the league structure.
If he stays, even better!I
TLDR: I think he'll stay to the end of the season. IF we go up, he may get a better offer. If he does. I applaud and thank him and wish him well. IF we go up AND he stays I will be so happy i might wet myself

We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you

Whats the point in Ian having an agent when he’s got this forum.
It's actually the first item in the manual which is produced for football club chairmen and managers.
"Your first port of call should be the Barrow AFC Fans' Forum".

This is the only way id see him leaving atm. Grayson hasn't won since the first week of December.AugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 7:46 pm It’s nonsense. Why would he want to leave at this stage of the season? If Blackpool sack Grayson he’ll be favourite for that position as well.

What if we all did a "reverse united". Instead of attacking his house, we could do some gardening and maintenence to convince him to stay

Good sensible and realistic assessment, but please spare us the detail of your final sentence!Barra Marra wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 9:14 am It's a fact life in football these days that the days of managers spending years and years at one club are gone. Re: Ian Evatt
Watched EFL highlights on Quest last night. After seeing Salford dismantle Cambridge Colin Murrays' first words were 'manager gone at Cambridge, Ian Evatt is favourite '. Becoming a bit boring now but Evo has made it plain he is going nowhere and I'm sure said the other day he will be here NEXT season.Suppose this is no more than Lincoln had with the Cowleys who eventually went. What Evo, and the players, have is the opportunity to become absolute legends if they pull promotion off. Would they give this up for instant 'monetary' gain ?
Re: Ian Evatt
It isn't just the manager bringing success at Barrow, the whole team of assistant, analyst and physio are clearly doing a great job.
When the manager goes it may well be that the whole team goes as a package.
Blackpool could be a great temptation if it happens but could be an even greater one, irrisistable perhaps, with a season or so's League Two experience if Barrow can give them that.

Re: Ian Evatt
Ie doesn't come across as a "money orientated" person.
I've said it before but I think he is a loyal man and one of his word.
He is sensible to know that until he has truly proven himself and can take us up and perhaps even push up again, that's when he will have proven himself but also have added value to us money wise so long as the contracts are present and correct.
If he did leave now he could make a right arse out of it and then eyebrows would be raised negatively.
I could be totally wrong and he may be tempted and jump and I sincerely hope he doesn't!
I think a promotion, the town really getting right behind is, the ground and club stable but growth would see him achieve his goal.
The promised land is within touching distance, let's focus on what we are doing by getting right behind him and the team and worry about stuff as and when it happens!
P.s Ian, if you are reading this please please get us out if the pit of a league and get us right back where we belong.
