Just been an excellent piece on him on the BBC News as he died on the day the deaths total reached 10,000.
Yes, Skipper, I saw that on the BBC 10 o'clock news last night. Mind you, I was so stunned I didn't fully take it all in. I did a Finlayson-esque massive double-take! I mean, the North-West News maybe, but the National News - - - and then, even better, after I thought it was just going to be the quickest of mentions, it went on to be a prolonged piece which must have lasted a couple of minutes. I definitely did not expect that on the National News, but it's yet another very well deserved tribute! As I say, I was stunned and so didn't fully take it all in. If, by any slim chance, anybody out there has a link please could they post it on here? I'd like to watch it again but this time not in a state of shock! Thank you.

It will be on there to view until 10.20 tonight (it appears they only make the programme available for 24 hours).
The bit featuring Brian and Jean starts at 13 minutes in.

You could put it in your OneDrive or similar then share a link to that file (only).

Thought it was very moving and was a fitting tribute, Jean spoke very well in difficult circumstances and was absolutely spot on that we shouldn't let our guard down yet.

It was a very well presented report and a sensitive tribute to lives that were lost, the sort of thing that the BBC (and ITN) do very well.

I watched him play as a young boy, when he wouldn't be that much older than me. I always knew there was something special about him, as a player and as a Barrovian. Last season, unusually for me, I was in the Crossbar before a match. I went for a pee, and as I stood at the urinal, BA came in and stood next to me. We only shared a few words as we did our necessaries, but there was a strength, a humility and a decency about him which was unmistakable. A very important memory for me.

The Rochdale game was not long ago - January 2017 - and, yes, that's the day that the stand was named in Brian's honour and he did a lap of the ground with family members before the match. However, the photo above, on the front of the Rochdale programme, was taken years earlier - in fact in the build-up to the FA Cup match against Leyton Orient which would have been . . . . ????? . . . . when was that? About 2003????? Memory, eh? Where's it going?
