Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
Couldn't make it yesterday but looked like a better 2nd half after a bit of a rocket from Pete at half-time. Incidentally, whose the post-match interviewer, very good imho

The clubs media person Ethan Thatcher does the post match interviews on the clubs website. Started this season and is doing a good job IMOossickbluebird wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 8:39 am Couldn't make it yesterday but looked like a better 2nd half after a bit of a rocket from Pete at half-time. Suprised nothing been mentioned about Kian Spence. I thought he made the team tick yesterday. Picking up ball in space at will. I think hes almost what we expected Gotts would be.
I think the fact we've bought another CF means we are going to persist with 3-5-2. I dont like it personally as i think most of the time its more like 5 at the back, but if we keep picking up points who can complain

Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
Agree about Kian Spence, was my mom of the match yesterday, like others worried about Warren on right side of a back three, didn’t win headers against Palmer, positional sense lacking looked far better with Feeley on who Wrexham tried the same tactics but Feeley was up to it and deserves his starting position back ,Warren needs to get some game time back in the reserves and build back his confidence
Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
In case anyone from media is reading this thread, the extended highlights link on the club site is only showing the 2 minute highlights at present.

I thought that too Matty. Much more positive with Feely behind him. Same positivity from Newby when he came on to replace Worrall.
Life is always better when it's better
Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
Good come back after half time lads ... we have the skills and potential in the team to do that for 90 minutes ...and if we do ...who knows where it might lead. Well done to all concerned.

First match : Barrow v Northampton Town : Sat. 24th Sept. 1960 ... won 1-0... ( which was nice )
Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
Warren had a nightmare but he wasn’t on his own first half. I personally wondered what Proctor brought to the team, more so in first half, but wasn’t great at all. That’s just my opinion and we can all have them but others may not agree, the beauty of a forum should be we can all voice them.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
Just found a 10+ mins extended highlights on youtube, so thanks to whoever did that.
The old place looks great these days too.

Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
Warren gets a lot of stick and a lot of it is unjustified. However, he is prime to a mistake and playing him in back 3 is not a good idea. He is decent going forward and out wide gets away with it more. I think he's improved on last year and there's no doubt he works hard. In the games I've seen him play he's also won plenty of headers. Not his best performance yesterday and Feely much better in back 3.

Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
Warren had a nightmare but whilst feely is much tougher he's just as rash. and isn't much use going forward( he had a nightmare against Sutton)if we are going to persist with this back 3 we need someone better than these two !, as for Newby he's good in forward positions but defensively!
When we actually press we look good but if you don't you end up with That first half display , sure Pete will look at this he's no fool but player's have to stay disciplined and stick to their individual plans .

Re: Barrow v Wrexham match thread
In his interview with Adam PW said he’s hoping for two more before January, but it might not happen. Got to be at least one defender. Chesters would be ideal for one season, but is playing silly bu****ers over money. If Ray or Canavan get injured, or have a severe loss of form, we have a problem. Both Warren and Feely are not at their best in the centre of a five man back three.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 2:26 pm Warren had a nightmare but whilst feely is much tougher he's just as rash. and isn't much use going forward( he had a nightmare against Sutton)if we are going to persist with this back 3 we need someone better than these two !, as for Newby he's good in forward positions but defensively!
