I thought today Stanway had a good match and some great saves but this pass out from the back [SwearFilter] is not his strong point. Stand by previous post if this is Farmans last season with us then I'm disappointed with the club for not playing him today. Obviously if wrong we have 2 good GK next season

I don’t think the pitch helped. Their keeper saved a few in an unorthodox way. Both missed judged the bounce. How good was the barrow lad to barrow lad chuck at anyway did for the newby goal 🥅

Would probably keep Farman in as no. 1, given the choice, with Stanway as capable, young back-up. Farman’s experience and consistency over a longer time would get him the shirt for me, for another season at least. However, if he’s off (‘Head of Goalkeeping’ has been advertised at Fleetwood) then Stanway with Daniels (who is still registered) as back-up maybe. Then again, if Farms was off - as other have said - it’s odd he didn’t get any sort or run out or send off on Sat. Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Quite agree that Farman should stay as first choice. As for the Fleetwood job, he'd be bonkers to take that. Short term is fine perhaps, but long term? He'd probably be out within six months, the number of times that door revolves! ;)

So why was he on the bench? If Stanway had been injured they were duty bound to put Farman on if he was on the bench.

He triggered that appearance clause last season to extend his stay until end of this season, from then he is out of contract.

Ben winterbottom coming in from fylde. Surely to be second fiddle to Stanway especially after bens record at relegated fylde last season

Don’t confuse the keeper with the club. Watched him twice last season. He’s pretty decent.

Wouldn' help playing behind a crap defence. The lad came through Liverpool Academy playing in a couple of Carabao Cup games before joining the much vaunted and at the time revolutionary Brentford B team(who only played friendlies). After signing a new contract at Brentford twelve months ago he was sent out on a season long loan to Fylde for experience. Needless to say the usual negative comments before anyone has even seen him play but sadly its always been a Barrow thing.Only minor negative is that him and Wyll both a similar age and experience will have to learn from one another unless Luke Daniels is still at the club (not heard him mentioned for a while).

He is still shown as 'Head of Goalkeeping' on the club site.
Don't let the old man in.

Now Andy Whing is starting a new season I can see back room staff changes for those not on a rolling contract.

Such as? He has brought Worrall in. Luke Daniels did a great job last season as goalkeeper coach so that just leaves Jason Taylor who is probably the longest serving individual at the club
