Doesn't surprise me. There have been persistent rumours that Cookie and Hughes dont see eye to eye. But every time it looks like Cook might be jettisoned he comes of the bench bangs in a couple and then starts a run of games where he continues to score. Bantams fans love him by and large and dont want to see him go.

The fact that he hasn't signed a new contract yet may be significant depending upon what division Bradford end up in next season. My experience of Andy Cook has always been that he makes his decisions on purely personal grounds irrespective of who he is playing for and is happy to move on to find the highest bidder. Given his goal scoring record again this season I doubt he'd be short of bidders from EFL2 and I'd doubt we'd be the highest bidder. I'd be surprised if he went to any of the teams suggested in this article therefore. But I do think we'd be interested in having him back.
