One for the wiz kids and thinking aloud here, but could the GMA be set up as a charitable fund as it is run on a volunteer basis and financed by donations. We may get our hands on a little extra tax relief that's all!! (may be more trouble than it's worth also)

Very unlikely as I don't think it would be seen to have a 'charitable purpose' under Charity law.

I would also imagine that even if a 'charitable purpose' could be found the hassle of setting it up, running it etc would make it more of a burden to those involved.
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here

Sorry if it was a not a worthwhile idea! Not as bad as the one allowing Workington the HSE though give them some screwdrivers to save them damaging their finger nails  GMA have done a great job down that end of the ground, It will be a sad day if those clowns from up the coast are let loose on it!

Sorry to pester people (who've probably been very busy over Christmas & this'll be more than likely the last thing on their minds) but we're trying to tie up outstanding money that has been promised to the GMA funds.

If you have money for us & you can't be bothered with the account details (I'd be one of you) We'll quite happily pop around to your house to collect or whatever's best for you.

If you could PM me how/where/when, we'll arrange something.

Thank you.

Total amount given to our £ for £ deal off Shane now stands at a fantastic - £799.63p + roller fund of £250 so a grand total £1049 & that'll be doubled to £2098 (think that's right)

Shane said he'll double everything up till the end of the season or until £2,000 is reached off supporters - so there's potential for another £951 to be raised off him :D

I still think there's some outstanding money to come in yet off supporters, if your struggling to get it to us drop me a PM with an address & we can pick it up if thats easier for you.

I'll go to the BDF shop at half time Nigel. If this is easier for others as well I'll be there for five minutes before H/T & five after I'll also be in the X Bar for half an hour before the game.

Good night on the pitch - good night for the funds!

£40 off Elaine & £10 off Jonty for Steve Leonards signed print, thanks Elaine & Jonty (that money wont go into the £ for £ as it was a seperate scheme)

£20 off Nigel Bamford for the account, thanks Nigel.

£50 off a person who has helped out with donations before but wishes to remain anon.

We also opened the donation can that the BDF kindly let us put in the shop, Dodgers foreign coins had been cashed in & along with the rest of the donations it raised a very healthy £95.95p.

So a total of £165.95 to be doubled, think I'd better let Shane know how this is going as he might have to do a bit of overtime!! Grand total now stands at £1215.58p which will be doubled.

Thanks to all who have helped reach this amount, the offer still runs till we either reach 2k through donations or until the end of the season.

Another £30 handed to John M yesterday off an anon donator, thanks.

Total now stands at £1,245.58.

All this is being doubled by Shane so if you can spare a few quid or your missing a game you'll sleep far better knowing you've thrown it into helping upgrading the facilities in the ground ;)
