Meanwhile back in the real world... Would take maximum points from half our remaining games to make up that 15 point gap, and they will likely have won a few and be a bit further on so no going to happen. Unless the top sides collapse in form and Barrow keep going it won't happen.

Remarkably we are constantly making up ground on the 5th place team(s) every time we play. Who ever is 5th place (and it changes constantly) will not gain as many points as the eventual league winner, so some chance there maybe. Staying where we are or above is the priority but like Edmo said post match... we'll concentrate on the games and the media/fans can speculate on that kind of stuff, we'll see were we are come April.

I think secretly many fans think we can get to the playoffs, and why not if we continue in this fashion. However, the sensible ones amongst us can't see us making up enough points whilst teams above lose enough games. Anyway, lightning can't strike twice, can it? Get your rubber soles on people! You never know!

Russ Dodd keeps pointing out as he did a few times tonight that we are actually in a better position at this stage of the season then we were 6 years ago.

There is no reason why we can not continue this good, and at least go close. We have taken points off all of the main contenders and still have a few of them to play again, so we could close the gap even more. We seem to have beaten every form team that has gone against us recently and even though it has sometimes been close the players have pulled through it. Tonight they showed what they are made of and came from behind to win, the first time in this run that they have had to do that. Prior to this unbeaten run heads dropped when we went a goal behind. The team has a real belief about them that we have not seen since we were last promoted.

Playoffs are just as easy as bottom 4 when you look at a run like this, if we were top and lost the same amount of points as we won we would be in the shit. I agreed with Reg et al that promotion would have been pointless this season but if the takeover happens and Edmo can continue this form then why not give it a stab.

One thing i will say is HS and the crowd is going to play a massive part of this final 3rd of the season. 1k plus and a rough atmosphere will shit every team in this league up!

I said to a mate of mine last week whos a Chorley fan we look forward to meeting next season, maybe just maybe we wont. And they will go up.

Another team performance and 3 points well deserved.
Scrappy first 20 min or so where we lumped the ball in the air a little too much and missed a few good chances.
Second half played it on the floor with lot of really good passing and running ,thoroughly deserving the win and it could have been more than three.
Must mention the terrific header of the line by Burns in second half,from where I was it looked like it was in and he appeared from nowhere to head clear.
Do hope Saturdays weather is ok and some of the stay away supporters return.

We enjoyed the night at Whaddon Road. The Barrow support created a good atmosphere to get behind the squad of players, led by a management team that really does go into games looking to win.

The days of sitting back inviting the opposition to come at us appear to have gone, thank goodness. When will managers work out that at this level, most players and teams are simply not good enough to sustain self-induced, kamikaze pressure and will be better off pushing back the opposition and trying to score goals to win games? Darren Edmondson has clearly realised this and we now put fear into teams and create chances galore. If any criticism can be made, it is that we do not yet convert enough of them into goals. One of these days, we will do so and a luckless opponent will take an absolute battering.

The players themselves are blossoming and clearly enjoying actually playing football at a club that little more than two months ago appeared to be a black hole for talent. The supporters are having a lot of fun too and whilst we are not going to win every game between now and the end of the season (are we?) the re-discovered togetherness and unity will see us through the tougher days. We chatted about this last night and my youngest and I agreed that making the decision to go to a game is so much easier, earlier in the season we started looking for excuses not to attend or not to make the effort.

Hopefully, the dis-enchanted fans will begin to make their way back to Holker Street. Let's not expect a tidal wave, though a clear and steady growth in numbers should and ought to happen. This is a team that is not only wins games but wins them entertainingly playing attacking football. It is also a team that knows how to defend when called upon to do so. Further and very importantly, it appears to be a team made up of a body of players who now seem happy and proud to wear the famous blue and white.

Well spotted, completely forgot about that Nigel. We were not exactly on a run when we won that but it is part of the run. I was thinking last night that we have gone so long without falling behind, we could have got a uncertain response. As it was the players clearly didn't give it a second thought and just got on with the job, played on and scored more than Gloucester and could have had more.

Lots of comments not just from Workington fans about Barrow not being good enough to stay up, and look at us now. At the time we were not really good enough and struggled but now it's like watching a completely different team. Amazing stuff.

Workington did not pick up much in January, 1 point I think. They have not played since they got that point at Brackley on 25th January, almost a month ago. They have had no chance to follow up and the long break may have a negative affect on their chances, or they'll be fresh enough to pull themselves out of it. Although a long break didn't help Gloucester last night.

Another night of success on the road Sam Sheridan's best game in a Barrow shirt IMO, what a strike only worry was that he came off after a sublime pass that if Rushton had connected with was goal of the season contender (achilles trouble apparently).
We took them apart in the second half and on another night may have scored five or six, saying that they had a shot cleared of the line by that man Burn's again probably was a game changer . Winning has become a good habit, but the bond that the squad now has is unbelievable and that is the most encouraging thing for me!! (a great chippy, best fish that I have had in a long time over a 10 minute wait though, it was that busy)
