I have never said Fylde aren't a small club... We are, and with being sandwiched between two big clubs (Blackpool and Preston) the fan base will obviously struggle. Its the fact that Barrow fans seem to think they are so much better than "little Fylde" when in fact we have competed at the same level as you all season, and also out played you twice this season. Just because you have over 2,000 attendance doesn't make you a better club...

The goal set out by Fylde is to reach the football league by 2022 which we are looking like could be a possibility. The fan base has doubled every season since so why would it stop here? Are all you Barrow fans afraid that you can't compete with a small club like Fylde? No need to slate us because we are simply better run than you are.

I'm not interested in any other club just Barrow AFC

Who cares who's smaller who has history and who hasn't.

Lets just hope Paul Casson doesn`t lose interest in the next year or 2 or we will be right in it.

Well we have come up through the divisions, and as one of your fellow fans said earlier you USED to be a FL club... so please explain to me how we aren't

You overuse ellipses you pal. Also, didn't mean why we aren't in the FL but why you seem to think we couldn't do it when you also haven't for over 40 years

I could write a book on the failure of our proud club to regain Football League status. More concisely, it could be argued and attributed to bad management of the club's finances...

I hope your club doesn't suffer the same fate...

Most of that time, we haven't had any finances to manage, badly or otherwise.

Regardless gents, i think AFC Fylde have done wonderfully well, it doesnt seem that long ago, when i was involved at Dalton Utd for a spell, we had some terrific battles with Kirkham&Wesham. I wish you well....for next season.

The top and bottom of it is Fylde are a small club with big ambitions! Barrow on the other hand are a sleeping giant just waking from their years of slumber by a knight who rode in from a far away place gave us the financial kiss that we have been waiting for since our enforced slumber. And we are going to live happily ever after, unless the wicked witch returns that is!!!!!

Oh by the way well done AFC Fylde whatever the outcome it's been a fantastic season

The size of crowds is pretty insignificant to success in modern day football - even in the Conference leagues! The teams with rich owners prosper and all the others struggle to survive. Barrow have a much larger support base than Fylde but Stockport have a much larger one than Barrow. Barrow and Fylde are at the top because they have owners with deeper pockets than others in the league. There no reason Fylde won't match Barrow in terms of progression as long as their owner is still interested and there's no more chance of him losing interest than Paul Casson losing interest in Barrow. Fleetwood have made it to League 1 with crowds which in the old days would not have produced the revenue to allow that to happen. Portsmouth - where I now live - have been getting an average of over 15,000 in Division 2 for the last 2 years which is above 5 or 6 times more than most other teams in the division but are still awful because they don't have directors with large pockets.
