He's been busy playing for Newcastle under 18s in the Hong Kong 7s tournament after the goalkeeper got injured, daft bugger only went and got himself sent off :sentoff:, has a coaching role at the academy so wouldn't be surprised if he stayed in the area, would be a decent option I suppose.

To compete with Gateshead we need to sign some of their rejects??

Can't imagine many of the eleven will be of the calibre of Neil Ashton, released by Wrexham.

I think some people get hung up on the 'released' tag as if they're not wanted. As from Jan 1st players are allowed to speak to other clubs, so many of these 'released' players just aren't signing contract extensions because they know they'll get a better deal elsewhere. Ashton is in this category.

Not only are we in a position to offer released players contracts we are also financially in a position to buy contracted players off other clubs , its a very good position we are in i see us having a strong team/ squad that should be pushing top ten by xmas and as pc Said if we are around the playoffs at January time theres's a transfer window to strengthen andpush again. Onward and upward always a bluebird. .

Another left sided defender/midfielder about to be signed up from a league club today. Edmo on holiday.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.
