Great to finally get a home draw but disappointing opponents..... But like others have said its winnable..
Reckon we will be the last Non league team left in looking at that draw....

Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw (Home to Rochdale)
We could realistically look at a draw here and possibly a win. I'm sure it will be an extremely open game so I wouldn't count on it not being a TV game.
A draw would be a great Tuesday night out at Rochdale and a win would put us in the hat for round 4 and even more chance of that lucrative tie.
A defeat would mean we've still had one of the best runs of any non league team and we get on with our promotion charge with a bit of extra money made and some great memories.

^^ a Friday or Monday more likely.

Exactly, this is a great chance to get to the 4th round. if we maintain our form going into this game it will be one hell of a cup atmosphere and anything can happen. Bring it on.Mark Johnson wrote:We could realistically look at a draw here and possibly a win. I'm sure it will be an extremely open game so I wouldn't count on it not being a TV game.

THE NORTHERN WAY
Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw (Home to Rochdale)
Not the best draw from either sides view point. As winnable as Bristol Rovers was when it was first drawn, a lot of football between now and January.
Both sides 5th in their division and near the top of the form table. Rochdale have overtaken Bristol in the last few weeks in the league as Bristol's form dipped. They where on a downer going into the game at the weekend and it landed well for Barrow. Rochdale are something different. They might have only narrowly got past Maidstone, but they dumped and in-form Carlisle out of the competition in the previous round. It should be a very tough contest even if both teams are not going so strong in January.
Not sure about being on TV now the big boys are here, they usually get the air time. If they want non-league then Sutton v AFC Wimbledon and Barrow v Rochdale, in the middle Norwich v Southampton and Preston v Arsenal, more likely West Ham v Man City and Everton v Walkers Crisps.

Re: Ball 55 (FA Cup Draw)
Yeah, but that was a Bristol side very low on confidence after some terrible form. We could always meet Rochdale on a similar run of form, but I doubt it.Richard Ingham wrote:They are only 3 points better off than Bristol Rovers in the table despite being a few places higher.Moribund wrote:They'll be a better side than Bristol Rovers. Rubbish draw really.
Also, if Cox has been growing that beard since August, what the hell happened???
I think we have to be in with our most realistic shout of Round 4.

If they go with a non-league side, it'll be Sutton vs Wimbledon - both teams have an FA Cup "story" that the TV love.K_BFC wrote:Not the best draw from either sides view point. As winnable as Bristol Rovers was when it was first drawn, a lot of football between now and January.

BT televise 3 matches and BBC 2 matches this round.
1 on Friday.
2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.
Each team gets £144,000.
Wimbledon were televised live last round.
Doubt they will be picked again.

I know it's the cup but the Carlisle game apart they do not travel well scored only 7 goals in 10 away games and have won only twice on the road in the league this year so bring it on.
