Feels at the moment a bit like when Vaughan disappeared over the horizon, taking his loot with him too.

He was obviously going to go, having players from the South obviously wasn't going to work in this new structure.

Shame really let's see what the next few weeks bring, the next signing should be a chief executive with a football background who can help to make us more sustainable

As for people saying time for new owners im sure anyone with a spare £4mill Casson will snatch your hand off

He came not only with a remit to keep us up but to help progress next season but the owners have now decided that the only remit is to keep the club afloat so rightly he has told them where to stick it. I noticed in his statement, no mention of them. They have clearly changed their tune about the future compared to what he must have been told prior to taking the job. I hope he goes on to a club who appreciate him and who at least give him chance with his own players and plan. What/who next? As already said, the next appointment will not only be vital but will tell us exactly what the future may hold. It has to be done quickly as who ever gets the job certainly won't/can't have the same target list as A.P and needs to get on with assembling not only a team but almost a full squad from scratch.
The problem is who would want to work for Casson.
One week they say one thing the next they change what they said.
The logistics for Adi where difficult but he got on with it believing the promises he was made.
It's going to be someone desperately needing employment to come and want to work for this club.
The Casson era will go down in infamey.
The next bit as he leaves will be he was let down by the locals not backing him

I'm not saying he's the right man and don't necessarily disagree but when have we ever had a 'footballing man' in charge?

Sorry, the point was about running the football club, not being manager.

Fair enough. Wilf Livingstone seemed to run it well, but can’t think of one after him.

Pennock can hold his head up high, hope I'm wrong but fear the worst, backs against the wall time again, it's what we do though !

On the plus side, that waste of space and clueless B.T Sport"expert" poser, analyst or whatever they are called, Grant Holt has gone. All the happy clapping " let's bring Holty" back because he once played for Barrow brigade are now glad he's gone. On the negative, we are relying on a stupid American who knows [SwearFilter] all about football choosing our new manager. God help us all.

P.S.Cheers Ady for trying to swim up a waterfall in a barrell. Good luck.

The full interview is well worth a listen when the show becomes available on iPlayer shortly. Too much to summarise briefly but Pennock continues to impress as a thoroughly decent man, extremely positive about his time at Barrow and his relationship with Paul and Andrew Casson.

The interview runs for some time in the middle of the show with extended Barrow discussion between the presenters at the beginning of the show and more comment after the interview including a comparison with the shambles at CUFC (administered, of course, by an 'experienced football man' of the sort advocated on here by those for whom all solutions are simple.

(Andy Wood reported contact today from 'a Fylde supporter' who is rejoicing today at Barrow's situation. Hmm, whoever could that be?)
