Re: David Dunn
Although it's a new Board there are a couple of experienced members . I'm not advocaing the sacking of anyone but at our level of football and leagues be!ow it would be very unusual that there isn't an inserted clause that if he manager or any of his backroom staff were to sacked they would be paid for a limited period of time possibly up to 3 months too
.managers don't always want a big payoff especially as.it can relate to how much compensation a club would have to pay to get them out, this of course is immaterial if the person is being sacked.
So I think it's highly unlikely the club would be paying a full term of their salary

Not doubting that it’s a credible challenge, I’m more pointing out that it’s the only defence there can be at the moment, as I doubt anyone can say with confidence that he’s done a good enough job in his role to warrant praise and recognition. Which is demonstrated in your response as it very much focuses on the financial aspects, yet again.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 10:01 amI think my challenge back is a perfectly reasonable one, if people want DD sacked then I think it’s only fair they have some idea financially of how the owners would do that with all the costly work that they’ve done with virtually no income.A.B. wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 10:23 pm
Interesting that your challenge back to people always seems to be “where is the money coming from?” as opposed to defending his actual managerial performance so far this season. Suggests that you know we can’t afford to sack him, yet equally know he isn’t performing well enough to sustain the role to a successful capacity.
Regarding defending his managerial performance so far....it’s a hard one and it must be a cause for concern to the owners, but realistically how can people expect them to each find another 10% x 2 - 20% x 2 and 40% to pay off any fee due?
How I see it is the owners came in, threw their own cash at it, did things to the ground that two years ago we wouldn’t have believed could’ve been done, so for them reasons I’m 100% behind them.
Bit of a sad situation if the only reason we can’t sack the manager is because we can’t afford to.

Re: David Dunn
most clubs have a replacement lined up when they sack their manager who is out there to take over
Re: David Dunn
I'd like to see DD stay and obviously see us stay in the league. I've said it before that regardless of money if by Christmas day we have hardly picked up any points in our next 5 league games then i could easily see the BOD saying a change is needed. We currently have less points than we've played games but just 3 wins and we'd probably be top 12 for Christmas. We aren't rubbish to watch, we can play against anyone and match them albeit 2 games we looked poor but just get the balance right in the team and i think we'll pick up points

Re: David Dunn
DD’s record as a football manager now reads 7 wins out of 44 games played; a percentage of approximately 15.90%. His record as manager of Barrow is now 2 wins out of 20 games played; a percentage of 10%. Not very good returns for the investments clubs have placed in him. Surely he himself must realise he just hasn’t got what it takes to be a successful manager (at any level). Not every successful player morphs into a successful manager. And judging by the body language of some of the players during games it would seem that I’m not the only one disenchanted with him. Some of them are hardly playing to their full potential, as if they don’t want to be with Barrow. If things stay as they are it wouldn’t surprise me if more than one of our better players decide that they want to leave. Before they do DD should be given a one way ticket back to wherever he came from.
Re: David Dunn
This is all so boring now just get behind your team and stop wanting to sack people ..we've just took a mid league one team to pens how's that

I'm not saying Dunn should go but I can think of two managers who got less time than him. Maurice Whittle. 12 games and Mickey Moore.

Re: David Dunn
Yes Wimbledon made changes but don’t make it out that we were up against their under 12 side.PerthBluebird wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 1:00 pmA reserve team vs another reserve team stop talking utter rubbish
Here is the break down of their line up last night:
GK - Nik Tsanev - Yes he was their back up keeper but a full New Zealand international **
CBR - Daniel Csoka - Hungarian U21 making his 11th appearance
CB - Will Nightingale - Wimbledon’s club captain
CBL - Terrell Thomas - making his 17th appearance
RWB - Cheye Alexander - backup player making his 5th appearance **
LWB - Nesta Guinness Walker - backup making his 7th appearance **
CM - Alex Woodyard - making his 16th appearance
CM - Anthony Hartigan - making his 17th appearance
AMR - Jack Rudoni - highly rated youngster at the club making his 9th appearance this season
AML - Ethan Chislett - 16th appearance this season
CF - Ollie Palmer - made his 6th appearance of the season but from speaking to a Wimbledon fan I know someone the supporters want to see starting alongside Joe Pigott more.
Subs:
Joe Pigott - leading scorer with 6 goals in 16 appearances prior to last night
Shane McLoughlin - 16th appearance this season and regular starter
Ryan Longman - 17th appearance of the season
Steve Seddon - 13th appearance of the season on loan from Birmingham
** = players that didn’t feature in their league game on Tuesday
So let’s not beat around the bush - that was a very capable league one side we went up against last night - disappointing to lose on penalties but not a reserve side that you’re making it out to be

Ethan Chislet was Aldershots best player by a mile last season according to most of their fans.

Re: David Dunn
Yep he was - scored against us in the 2-1 win at aldershot back in September last year.
Cheye Alexander was a regular for Barnet last season as well scored the opening goal in our 3-0 FA Trophy defeat at the Hive

Re: David Dunn
The fact that both teams were playing their third game inside 5 days made everything pretty meaningless. The fact that the game went to penalties on top of that favours only one side - that is Crawley. Not fair absolutely but it wont be the last time that two teams meet this season with one having played more frequently and therefore more tired and vulnerable.
