A clear and simple analysis is that the important decision regarding who is appointed as our next manager rests with the board, and only them. I'm totally convinced that they are passionate about the club,. No doubts about that at all. My only point is that recently they have made a balls of it, twice. Yes, Kelly was a significant but short term saviour. Perhaps this time careful consultation with "footballing" people e.g. Kelly and hopefully a number of others who really know what's required in L2 will get us the right sort of manager to consolidate the club and move us up in many ways. Rhetorically, are the board sufficiently football savvy to get the right person in?
Think the successful appointment of Ian Evatt was more due to luck with Andrew Casson than judgement. Paul Casson brought in Cox with relatively decent degrees of success but that haemorrhaged cash and we couldn’t keep up with his voracious appetite. But look who has come and gone in between It has mainly been a who’s who of dross. Andy Pennock being the best of the worst. Rob Kelly steadied the ship last season and we are all eternally thankful of our survival but it’s going to take a fair bit of luck again going forward.
Hoping our new manager the players we have left and any new blood gel in pre season and start to build momentum as the season progresses.
Not got a clue who they are going for to lead us to safety next season, just hope whoever it is offers stability for a season or two and something then we perhaps can build from!🙏

Firstly my gripe about Paul Casson was he overstated what he could do,he was a absent landlord and heavily aided by the US tax system,he was ripped off by people because of that.
He did step up ,but he was out of his depth.
It's ironical sometimes good intentions that go wrong end up with the result,so thank you Paul Casson,I remember his Dad Walter on the terraces and at the college.
Evatt was a wild card but driven by ambition and money.

The spirites did us a favour sacking him because it drove him on .
Who will be right for Barrow who knows but please no one flash.
Look at out best Managers none of them were obvious.
I do not ask for much but let's at least be challenging for promotion.

When a big team comes down, every game is a cup final. Ask Luton....7 attempts to get out?

At the moment I dont see alot looking for jobs. The ones I do see you wouldn't touch....ie Hill etc

Derek Adams at morecambe has done a fantastic job, I think Bradford are after him.

There will be a name in the frame that nobody has even thought about yet.

Like I said before plenty of people will be interested in the job. I wonder if anyone has been interviewed yet.

Ardley is in for it, he's on the shortlist. Took AFC Wimbledon into League One and they're basically just MK Dons supporters team.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

On the betting list only Hill and Ardley have applied. The rest are in the bin.

There are an awful lot worse managers than Neil Ardley in our betting list. He did a decent job at Wimbledon at a far higher level and a decent job at Notts County. However, I think he's southern based so doubt if he would be interested in any case.

The North/South thing is I think slightly overplayed. Didn't stop Kenny Lowe playing for Barnet :scarf:

Now there's a name you could throw into the ring. Think he would fancy swapping sunny Oz for Blighty ?. Or is he already the real PERTH Bluebird ?
