We are not financially strong enough to be a buying club and I don't think I would want us to spend money we really haven't got with no guaranteed return. We need to grow steadily as a club and look to Cooper to get the best out of the squad and a marked improvement on last season and pick up any promising loanees. The Villa game is a bonus but for me any money from that needs to be used to go back into building the infrastructure (ie into the Academy or towards the extra seats required). Anyway we are only 4 games in! Lets see where we are when we get players back and fully fit. My own view but i think its where we are right now.

Completely disagree with your Villa game money scenario. We need to bring player/players in with that money. Our stock has never been so high, football fans will start to vote with their feet if we are losing. What good will thousands of extra seats and an academy be when we are languishing in the lower regions of the conference on 1000 crowds. Football is about the here and now, and we need to act on it!

Cooper said Zanzala is not yet match fit and only good for 60 mins ATM. On top of that he was on a yellow card and the ref was on his case for persistent fouling so he was on thin ice.
IMO it was a poor game played in difficult conditions especially in the first half. Neither side played well and but once Farman gifted them the equaliser that gave them the impetus to go on and win the game.

Football fans (especially here at Barrow,)are fickle we've got a feel good factor at the club now, a statement signing is just what everyone needs, the extra fans success brings the investment would pay for itself!

Paul Hornby has already said that the Villa money goes towards putting a dent in the projected loss for the season. Probably the same goes for the Quigley cash. Sea might be the answer along with Zanzala. The problem is we dont have much strength in depth but the core doesnt look bad. Weve not had a great start but it's not been terrible either. Ten games is the first real marker of our ( and everyone else's) progress. Let's not get carried away after 4 league games.

Barrow are a work in progress.Mark Cooper has brought a way forward for our team,so you have to give him a chance to improve our team which I am sure he will.Remember a guy called Alex who became Man Utd greatest manager,in his first three seasons the fans wanted to sack him after a run of poor results.

Just in pub now, harrogate stopped selling tickets so 10-15 barrow fans were left outside the ground a couple of families aswell who had travelled.
Qued up at 2.45pm, que took ages to go down, then just after 3pm they just said there not selling anymore tickets as system is down.
Left 10-15 barrow fans outside and aren't letting them in.
So much for Steve Herbert telling me to get my tickets at Harrogate.
Hopefully our club have words with whoever as its been an absolute farce.
I'm off for a night out in Leeds so I'm OK i feel more sorry for the young lad with his parents who didn't get in.

Throw away a lead against Harrogate and all of a sudden some fans have us languishing "in the lower reaches of the conference" for eternity? The overreaction is laughable. The keeper mistake destabilised what was looking like a routine win. Nothing more, nothing less. Ideally we would have had a better attacking option to bring on, but he's out with concussion. Get the impression some would be happy if we signed any old clogger up front as long as he comes with a sizeable price tag.

Strange innit, flash back 12 months when it took us 9 games to win it was just a matter of time before everything clicked and we'd be fine. It has taken us half the time to get to our current points tally and we're doomed.

The positive I've taken from today is that Cooper was [SwearFilter] off, Dunn would have said we were unlucky with the first goal and that it changed the game, and would've been happy with the showing.

I tuned into radio Cumbria on Freeview 721 about 14.20 and heard more discussion about the white lines at Brunton Park than anything about Barrow. When will they realise that Barrow and Carlisle are of equal status. I think the problem is that the lead presenter is apparently at the Carlisle stadium and a Carlisle supporter. Between him and the commentator and the pundit, they could talk the hind leg off a donkey

While I’m in the we get decent coverage from RC we certainly don’t get anywhere near equal coverage & today was a classic example, When they were chatting all things BAFC on our section of the program they were chatting asking if we ever faced a bigger club than Villa…One of them got all giddy as a text came in confirming an ex player can do CO-comms away to Crawley in a few weeks…..It was our section & they couldn’t contain there excitement about a trivial matter when discussing a major game for us, Very shoddy segment that.
