Re: BARROW AFC v IPSWICH TOWN FAC 2nd Rd Replay
Excellent tonight, everyone of of them.
Gotts brilliant when he has 2 more defensive players like banks and white behind him,
Wouldn't be me without a complaint. At least 3 people including a kid got hit hard by balls coming over into the fanzone pre match by warm up shots.
I know it's more expense but put a net up, because it's not hitting the board room or there kids it doesn't matter, but someone ls getting hurt soon. Probably a child as they are smaller and hurt more from a ball in the face, put a net up.

To beat the 1969 League cup winners and the 1978 FA cup winners in the space of 5 days without conceding a goal is something I never thought I’d see at Holker St. Congratulations to the board , management team and the players. We don’t get to the 3rd round often. The FA cup still has its romance . Let’s take a big crowd to Barnsley and have a splendid day out.
This all day.

& This, Fully agree, What a time to be a Barrow fan & only 2500 home fans tonight??HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:45 pm We really are being spoilt at the moment: we’ve faced a Premier League team at home in the league cup, we’ve just knocked one of the big traditional names of English football out of another cup, we’ve been on TV 3 times already this season (have a feeling they’ll stick the Barnsley replay on as well…..) we took 1600+ fans to a league fixture; and it’s only December! Caller to Radio Cumbria tonight said she goes with her 80 year old Grandad and he can’t ever remember having it so good, we should all (myself included) remember that some times when we are having a grumble!
First half tonight we were magnificent, finally the real blend of being solid at the back but also fast flowing attacking football as we go forward as well. Second half Ipswich came on strong as expected but in the main we defended well (thought Farman had probably his most solid all round game since he joined us tonight) and throughly deserved the win. Whoever snaps up Gotts in the summer will be a lucky team, how the heck we managed to sign him on a permanent transfer I will never know

Brilliant stuff Barrow! Such a strong performance, especially first half.
Connor Brown has often found himself on the fringe of things, even going back to the Evatt days but he’s stuck at it and turned in some really solid performances. He defended really well today and Saturday.
Really looking forward to Barnsley.

Well xmas comes early to Barrow AFC and it’s supporters. A well deserved win and all round excellent performance.
Spent the afternoon and early evening in the company of a few that made the Journey up north from Suffolk. They were very complimentary of our club and the friendliness of those they met. They were more confident than me of the final outcome tonight. I fancied us at Ipswich to bring them here for a replay but was unsure how it would go tonight. Need not have worried as we bossed the first half 3 wouldn’t of flattered us at half time. They turned the screw first ten minutes of the second half we weathered the storm and Barnsley here we come.

Look at Ipswichs average in league then attendance Vs us.
Wasn't a bad crowd, expensive to get in, nearly Christmas, big games coming up.

Exactly same happened at the Leicester u-21 game and I informed the volunteer group who have in turn informed the club but still no action. It's an advertising space in itself isn't it a bit of netting up and a company's logo. Let's hope it's not gonna end up with someone getting hurt for some positive action to be taken.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 11:37 pm Excellent tonight t,l everyone of of them.

Well done to the whole team.So glad my earlier prediction came true a stirling performance. This team seems to be going from strength to strength game by game.Mark Cooper told us this team was a work in progress and now finally everything seems to be clicking into place. This guy seems to know what he wants so stick with him and things will improve.I for myself have every faith in him.Onwards and upwards from here.

If you're not actually there in person yourself don't have a sly dig at those who maybe have got other financial priorities this time of year. You're supposedly a supporters representative aren't yeh?mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 11:44 pm& This, Fully agree, What a time to be a Barrow fan & only 2500 home fans tonight??HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:45 pm We really are being spoilt at the moment: we’ve faced a Premier League team at home in the league cup, we’ve just knocked one of the big traditional names of English football out of another cup, we’ve been on TV 3 times already this season (have a feeling they’ll stick the Barnsley replay on as well…..) we took 1600+ fans to a league fixture; and it’s only December! Can you imagine balls flying in to any hospitality areas on a regular basis? Come on CEO you've got 2 weeks to get this sorted.
Re: BARROW AFC v IPSWICH TOWN FAC 2nd Rd Replay
Well done to all ... superb all round performance , especially in the first half ...when Ipswich were totally outplayed ...and appeared short of either confidence , drive , or effort.
We kept possession well , created chances and looked comfortable at the back ...although in the first half we could almost have dispensed with the back four ...so poor were Ipswich . After the break they had obviously had a rollicking ...and for a time at least were much quicker on the ball, driving forward , largely with long balls down the centre . We adapted ...and settled down to play defensively with determination and togetherness ... but also always looking to get forward quickly when the opportunity arose . The TV commentators were impressed as almost any of the neutral watchers on the TV would have been . A terrific performance .
I think Barnsley in the next round was not a particularly kind draw for us. They are better than their league position suggests in that they have both speed, directness and strength in their ranks . It will be a hard game ...but we will have a chance ..especially if we can keep our improved run going over the next few weeks ...and continue to play football 'on the ground' when we can against them .
What a night ... Great stuff.

Easy solution move the practice nets to the other side of the pitch, guarantee once a few balls bounce of the chairman's car bonnet it'll be sorted in a matter of days.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 11:37 pm Excellent tonight, everyone of of them.

Id be more concerned that while the club fail to act and the matter continues we could end up in a bit of trouble. Im sure when an accident occurs as described, and it will, with the club having been aware and seemingly made no attempt to resolve we would be wide open to litigation?
Remember the fan zone is outside the permiter of the ground so an away fan with a face full of bovril and leather stiching may not view the situation too kindly. Not the best way to spend your cup run cash!
Great display on the pitch from every player, refreshing to see the confidence we played with tonight, a genuine belief in our ability again and cooper may have found a formation and pattern which gets the best out of what we have, gives me hope as we move into a very busy period in search of some very important points.
