Barrow v Macc match thread

Totally cock-a-hoop that we got the three points last night but I was concerned after we scored we seemed to sit back and invite all the pressure from macclesfield. I thought they were going to at least equalise and wish we had carried on playing how we were, more attacking.

I would also liked to have seen boyes up front more. Far from impressed with rowe.

The commentary team didn't miss it, it was discussed at the time. I switched off on the final whistle so I don't know what was said after that though.

Thanks for that, I was not listening to them all the time so missed some of it. Just after the 1st dive on 20mins they clearly said they had no idea why the No22 was now being booed. All they said was that he must have done something. Regarding the free kick itself I did not recall them saying anything other than it was a free kick that Boyes was adjudged to have given away. They had the same view of it as the ref had of the dive in the 2nd half. From my position and that of the linesman it could be seen he did not touch the No22 at all, big question over why the linesman flagged a moment later. What was discussed after the incident I'm not sure, like I say I was not listening that closely.

I don't recall either dive being brought up after the game. Given Macc were diving all over the place like they did last time at Holker St. (FBSS) there was probably too many incidents to discuss so decided not to mention it. Small point of us winning the game dominated the post match talk.

WOW... Braintree off to a flyer in 1st minute against Alfreton tonight 1-0. Hope they do well until they play us, as they play a few relegation threatened sides, Ebbsfleet, Southport and Hyde.

Oh right, didn't realise there were a few incidents. They just mentioned the one, where Boyes was spoken to. Typical conference gamesmanship which we need to do a bit more of!

Macc's Pickford (only moments after Silkman Pearson had had his nose broken
by Barrow's Bond), Robertson was ordered from the field. When he refused to
leave some supporters rushed the pitch and Robertson escaped by vaulting a
wall and making for the station in a hired car. Macc won the game 3-1 and
both Barrow players were fined and suspended. Football was suspended a few
weeks later until the end of the First World War.

I found this an interesting (and amusing) account from the Macclesfield Official forum of the history between Barrow and Macclesfield.
It sounds as if WW1 started a little earlier. I wonder how King would have reacted to that on Sky Sport?
