Dunno about any 88yr old that was attacked but the guy with the walking stick was in his 60's and after being treated by paramedics is happily travelling back on the ISC bus. Think police were there to escort the fans onto the bus but hope everyone else got away ok and the culprits are caught.

Just got home after leaving the game as the second half kicked off. Seeing pensioners getting punched and flares thrown into the crowd landing feet away from children is not what I go to football for. Quite frankly I hope Atherstone Town club is forced to close as they have a bunch of mindless morons associated with them but also an idiotic bunch of officials who clearly think it is okay for their fans to behave like this and feel no need to take appropriate measures. Half a dozen 60+yo stewards are clearly not going to do the job.

Since leaving and talking to police and other fans who also talked to police they clearly were not aware of the game going on and when they were called the police have said that the club did not initially let them into the ground. If this is true then I hope the FA throw the book at them. How the heck so many flares can be allowed to get into a non-league game is beyond me. This was Warwickshire, not Turkey or Milan.
