Wrexham match thread

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

We were pretty crap - after the first 20 mins, not one player played well (Livesey did nothing wrong). Can't believe anyone saw any positives in that, because we were absolutely hammered.
I'd like to know which players supposedly played well, because Dixon was rubbish, both Williams had their worst games, Mellor terrible, Haworth and Cook did nothing, and two young attacking midfielders were bossed by their defenders.
If that wasn't "that bad", some people have low standards - it was tedious after Ashton went off.

A defeat is easier to take if they play well and by all accounts it seems like they did today. I really feel for edmo as playing well probably won't be good enough. Like he said in his interview, "those from afar won't see today's game for what it was" or something along those lines and I agree Casson will just see another defeat.

Bad news with Ashton's injury.

Not by the account directly before your post Lisa. Some say yes, some say no...either way we lost the game and one of our better players so it isn't going to improve is it?

I fear that now because of the situation Paul Casson has created we could now get dragged down to a relegation struggle and I don't think most of the present squad have the fight for one absolute mess!

I got the impression during RC interview that the line "those from afar won't see today's game for what it was" was a reference simply for all Barrow fans that weren't there? (probably including PC ) I see Guiseley brought in a young striker on loan from Bury. Got the two goals for their win today.

So what happens now then ? Radio says we played well, yet we got beat 4-1. Where will Casson go from here ?
Probably wait until the end of the month before making a decision

Ive just calculated some numbers using Straker, Austin's Calculation Kinetic Evolution Device ( SACKED for short).

Its put the number at 0.35 . Taking into account the 6 main targets given to Edmo

On the plus side we're still closer to the plays than relegation..

Correct. Andy Wood picked him up on it later in the interview and that's exactly how Edmo clarified it (without saying it included PC ;) )
It all comes 'round again.

Wasn't a 4-1 game, in fact until the first goal we were the better side and quite comfortable. Played decent football on the ground (although admittedly we lacked a bit of cutting edge) and the players proved that they're behind Edmo.

In my opinion it'll be harsh if he loses his job after that.

Sounds like we played good football (one of the targets) but lost. What a pickle.

I watched from the half way line, as usual.
In my opinion the first 20 minutes we were all over them, but never looked like scoring. The first half was dominated by Barrow, but they got a really flooky goal just before half time and we never recovered.
Wrexham were very very ordinary, like lots of the sides we lose to, and we are better, definitely, apart from getting the ball in the net...
Keep Edmo to the end of the season and then take stock...Speaking of "stock", we are in danger of becoming something of the laughing variety with all the unhelpful public intervention from our chairman.
Grimes is a very very poor footballer; he doesn't try, which is unforgivable.

Grimes I don't know, I still think he's got something and its just getting it out of him that is difficult (maybe even impossible).

Mellor on the other hand is a waste of a shirt, needs to be 100% better. He must have something but at the moment looks overweight, unfit and disinterested. Must've only touched the ball about 5 times today and should've been hauled off long before he was. I think that centre midfield area might be what costs Edmo his job ultimately as not only is he failing to address it but he doesn't even seem to recognise it as an issue.
