Re: Crossbar Saturday
As another (recent) ex member of the NSC I find your answer baffling Andy. I hadn't even heard of the Facebook page despite being a social media guru, and it isn't publicised in the National Zigger - the NSC's own publication. Who was the person who thought that was the quickest way to reach as many of the members as possible and what rationale was used to come to that decision? It appears to me a little more thought would've been beneficial - either use the email distribution list that Darren uses to send the Zigger (as pointed out by John W) or perhaps my BarrowAFC Twitterbot which IS mentioned in the Zigger. Both would've achieved much greater coverage.Steelworks End wrote:I would have thought that using the email list for sending out the National Zigger would have been the obvious choice as this would have reached most (although I accept not all) members, rather than the Facebook page which few even know about because it hasn't been publicised.nottinghamblue wrote:
There was a very short window in which to turn this around. It was thought that the quickest way to reach as many of our members as possible in the time available was to use Facebook. So, yes, it was communicated, though we knew at the outset that not everyone would see it. Apologies to those who didn't get the message, or saw it when it was too late, but time was of the essence.
Andy McKinnon, NSC Chairman.
But then, I'm only an ordinary ex-member.
I'm left wondering as to the composition of the list sent to the club for the draw, and whether the names on that list truly saw the notice on a non-publicised practically unseen Facebook page that doesn't syndicate visitor posts to FB followers, or maybe they were informed by other means like word of mouth or text messages between friends.

Reliably informed by the person given the responsibility that the season ticket holders names were listed and entered into a random name generator and those choosen have all been informed. Sounds like a list to me!!

Re: Crossbar Saturday
It would have been much much fairer if they had held auditions for the TV spectacular with Papa Cass, Paul Cox, Danny Livesey and Spirit on an X-Factor type panel. Then folk could demonstrate to the hypercritical panel how Barrow they are by drinking Sass, singing ‘Barrow Ranger’, juggling their programmes from the 66/67 season etc.
It could be broadcast on the club’s YouTube channel and be very entertaining with nice guy/bad guy Spirit being the Simon Cowell type figure. Imagine the joy, the pain, the suspense, the tears, the tantrums, the 3-year bans, the (Cont. Pg 94)

So i ask again. When was this draw, who made this draw and who witnessed this draw. Absolutely no problem with anyone INVITED but please don't dress it up as some sort of draw where everyone has an equal chance of having their name drawn out the hat.

There was no draw, it wasn't made and no one witnesses it.
