Are we even that much of a big team anymore? The likes of Burke, Turnbull, Harvey, Rowe, and Hannah are hardly tall, but people seem to think we're doing this through brute force.
Livesey was exceptional, and whole back five had very good games. Rowe looked composed in what is probably an unfamiliar position for him.

Wright's red was stupid - the first booking for deliberate handball near the half-way line, and the second was a needless tackle out on the touchline. Thought they were the better side for most of it, and could have had four or five, but for some great stops from Flatt and last-ditch blocks. Williams looked like maybe he realises he's not an automatic pick, and had better start trying.

Fantastic effort last night. As mentioned Flatt was very solid & Livesey was his usual exceptional self, have we had a better defender at the club in the last 20 years?

It's interesting looking at the Macc fans view of the game and then switching to Aldershot fans comments on the game last night. (Quite sad in a way). A lot of Macc fans were quite realistic about the game and did actually give Barrow some credit - I've not normally said that about Macc fans in the past. Many realised they did not take their chances and suffered because of it. Every team suffers this at whatever level.

However, the Aldershot fans seem to be quite pathetic. They forget they threw away a two goal lead and let a nine man team equalise (however good the goal was). They seem to conveniently forget their managers after match comments where he was irritated by his teams lack of game management towards the end of the game. Think Aldershot fans need to have a long look at their team rather than focusing on the way we play.

We are what we are. I bet we are not the only team that Aldershot have faced playing out style of football.

I don't get to many away games, but glad I made the effort to go through last.

Thought Macc played some nice football, and if they had been more clinical we could have been on the end of a good hiding, but they didn't and we put in a fantastic battling performance with some real back to the wall defence when required and took advantage when the penalty came along.

Was impressed with the ground, facilities and the 'new' stand/bar/corporate area, we could do worse than to look at this if we have serious plans of renovating HS. Not too ostentatious, but compact and comfortable.

Livesey is just immense, I'd hate to think what would happen if we lost him through injury or suspension, some big boots to fill!!
Silly challenge from Wright, thought Burke did ok, Rowe looked lost at times at LB, but never stopped trying, will be glad to have Nick back Saturday mind.
Turnbull is starting to look the player we thought we'd signed, lets hope he can stay fit now, and another great shift by ARH who drove us on a times when we were flagging.

Roll on Saturday now!!!

I only see away matches in the South but over the last 2 seasons I've never seen one match where Livesey wasn't in the best 2 or 3 players for Barrow and usually THE best. He' s an exceptional player at this level. Not only are his performances exceptional but they are also incredibly consistent.

You hear of the scouts watching Williams,Anderton and bids coming in, but I am surprised nobody at a higher level has come in for Livesey. He is our player of the season so far in my opinion and plays at a consistently high level.

Fantastic. Look at the squad we had a month ago compared to what we had last night. Four players injured, two suspended and another four left on loan or permanent. Mr Cox couldn't pick the team on talent or tactics but had to shuffle the loanees to make sure we weren't breaking the rules. We had two novice full backs,THREE strikers away, a couple of weeks after we'd had ONE at home !, and two contracted players on the bench yet to make a start and who'd like as not score more on scrabble.Little wonder then that I feared before kick-off another defeat but again was proved wong by a bunch of lads who as play-off rivals are beginning to note just won't go away. Roll on Torquay !
