At 4.50 as Anderton was sent off he talked about us facing a battle for the last 13 minutes. One minute later he was stressing, telling us we had a tough last 15 minutes to try and hang on. Then I thought I could hear the PA system saying there were 5 minutes of added time. What? They're telling us that, when there's 15 minutes of normal time still left?

It was just too confusing. My head went into a spin. Not good at my age. Had to go and take a nap.
Did we hang on or are we still playing?

We were excellent for most of the game today. First half, we had a superb 10 minute spell which gave us a comfortable lead. I can only remember their chances being limited to free-kicks. An alert start to the second half led to us extending our lead to 4. We really were coasting. Yes, we conceded a couple and had Anderton sent off, but I don't even think we could've cocked that up.
Baffled by some people's comments on here having a right moan as per usual. It was a bloody good win away from home and an enjoyable day out.

I thought the first goal was against us listening to those two. No passion at all. We need Adam Johnson with his heart on his sleeve passion commentating. Surely Radio Cumbria aren't expected to be impartial when we score.
I always imagine Adam running outside to celebrate when we score and then running back in to continue his commentary.

There are quite big time gaps between what happens on the ground and when you hear it on the radio, especially digital or via the web.

If I bet on a Barrow game (or any other) any scores flash up to a 1 or 2 minutes before I hear it on the radio or however I'm listening/watching it.

Was glad I didn't get the bus down, what with it going the wrong way, then running out of petrol so we had to go into Birmingham after the game, therefore ending up with an extra stop, which was made a lot sweeter by the presence of the AFC Flyde team coach. We passed on all your regards to Danny Rowe and co.

T-shirt day, sat on this odd outdoor bar area. They had a massive family day going on and had pies, chips and curry/gravy, lovely stuff, serenaded slightly bizarrely by a steel band playing Steps and Tina Turner. I'm not really massively into the 'let's pat each other on the back' Non League thing but the folk there were great to deal with. Only slight complaint was the glacial speed of bar service.

We were simply more like ourselves with Williams and Meikle to the fore. Moussa Diarra had another good game- his form and Williams' seem to be the barometer of the team. Their keeper had a mare. Lot's were on a Barrow win and Both teams to score so were quite happy at 4-1, less at 4-2 but we saw it out easily enough.

Ridiculous getting back at 10 (Clarkson's 2- The Wukkies Take Over are proving miles worse than Mark 1) but a grand day out nonetheless. We are still in it. On to Chester.

We were very good first half, absolutely dominated and seemed only a matter of time before we scored. They couldn't deal with Meikle and Williams who were both excellent, Bennett bullied their centre-halves and had a very good half, Harvey was very busy and picked up everything in midfield and at the back we looked incredibly comfortable.

Second half we started well but then seemed to take our foot off the gas once we got the 4th as so often happens with all teams. It was sloppy of us to concede 2 goals though, especially the second which was very poor from Meikle who gave the ball away on the edge of his own box. Made it slightly more hard work than it ever should've been against what was a very poor Solihull side. We saw it out reasonably comfortably in the end though.

An excellent day all in all and we were well worth the win. Tuesday is massive now and Saturday very winnable. Win both of those and you'd like to think 3 wins on the bounce would see us close to being in the play-off places again. Big question marks as to whether we can do that as we seem to have lost any sort of consistency but if we can put some kind of run together we're still in with a great shout.

Having been to Aldershot where you could cut the atmosphere with a knife, yesterday was just about the most non-confrontational, easy going game I'd been to for years. This was thanks to the Solihull FCs family day which introduced burgers, barbeques a steel band, face painting and numerous other child friendly activities. Lots of smiling happy and very young faces and a beautiful warm sunny afternoon. At times it was like trying to watch my football team play in the middle of our local village fete. Noticed this at half-time in particular when based on their first half performance the response of most NL supporters would've been to have strung up their entire defence whilst saving even worse punishment for Baxter the hapless keeper. As it was there were lots of smiley faces which was nice if a little spooky.

My only disappointment with the game - apart from their second goal which we set up for them- was that we really didn't finish that well. In truth this could've been a cricket score by the time Solihull got their act together. Had Beeley stayed on the pitch my guess is that further punishment might have been meted out. There was a comment at half time that ironically we weren't actually playing that brilliantly and this was in fact true and shows how poor Solihull - who I expected to give us a tough game - were. As it was they looked like they were celebrating survival. Lets hope Chester feel the same way on Tuesday.

Whilst Nick Anderton can be rash in his tackling he actually played really well yesterday and his bombs into the box in the first half were a significant factor in ramping up Solihulls fear factor. His first booking came seconds after he was scythed down on the wing without the offending player being booked which he clearly should've been. The second offence was pretty soft also adjudged to be leading with an elbow but trying make what looked a legitimate challenge. Well done to ARH on his 200th. Amazing how this player still divides opinion amongst the faithful. A lively debate was held between those who though he wasn't good enough to have worn the shirt and those - like myself - who think that he has improved like a fine wine during his time with us. I thought his contribution yesterday was pretty typical, effective if unseen for the most part.

Last word must go the Paul Cox however, who fooled everyone with his selection yesterday. There were more than a few who thought he was about to produce a 4-5-1, backs to the wall display introducing Tuton/Hannah late on 15 minute smash and grab. As it was Williams was pushed forward and from the start it looked like a more attacking 4-4-2. Solihull were vulnerable down both flanks and both Beeley and Anderton played in advanced roles. This can make you vulnerable on the counter a point proved in the second half, but by then the white flag was already flying over Damson Park. Lovely day.

It wasn't fun it was ridiculous. How can a professional driver not know where he is going, we ended up in Coventry.
Then once dropped off the driver had nearly 3 hours till picking us up again. We get on the bus and he decides he's no diesal and doesn't know where he can fill up.
Amateurs.
Trust should be asking for a refund
