Re: Chester tonight
Before watching this I was expecting Bennett to be practically off the pitch as the offside decision was seemingly so bad...I am not even sure that was offside at all, great timing for the run IMO. Definitely had luck on our side with the second goal but going from the highlights it looks as if we deserved the win, excellent ball retention after they scored. I am usually quite negative with our chances but I really believe now that we will make it. I think the last few results will be instilling that belief into the team too. We have a favourable run in now so let us hope that we can stop this business of poor results against the supposedly inferior teams (last night a good starting point). I fly on holiday the day after the playoff final, cannot wait to hopefully fell my mrs we are detouring via Wembley.saltcellar wrote:HIGHLIGHTS: Re-live all the action from last night's 2-1 win over @ChesterFC! https://t.co/uvSQYtYasZ
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Re: Chester tonight
Huge thanks once again for all the lovely comments on here, and too elaine for the lovely gesture of offering a donation.
We don't do this for praise etc we do this purely out of the enjoyment of doing it, providing a service to the patients and staff in hospital who otherwise wouldnt hear the game due to only FM radio cumbria being on Hospedia.
It's also good that we can give listeners abit more of a barrow supporters perspective of things (whilst trying not to come across too biased ha)
It was an honour just to be asked about the possibility of the club using our commentary for the official highlights but to actually see it happen is an even bigger one.
So thank you once again on behalf of all at Radio Lonsdale. Hopefully the club will do their part to get me in that Wembley Commentary box, just dont expect a good sounding commentary that day if it happens (well unless you enjoyed the Icelandic commentator in the euros last summer ha)

Re: Chester tonight
I listened to the second half commentary on the hospital radio and it was a refreshing change from Radio Cumbria. Would certainly listen to future broadcasts. And having a commentary on the match highlights is a bonus; a big thank you to all concerned.
RC did scoop the story of the prevalence of gun crime in Nottingham though!

Re: Chester tonight
I read the report in the Chester Newspaper earlier today.
Their reporter seems to think that we used spoiling tactics and that the Ref was heavily biased allowing a lot of fouls made by US to remain unpunished. However, his overall match report (attacking play/goal opportunities) indicates that we commanded the game!

Highlights are great with the added commentary. Well done lads, hope this can be the start of a good partnership with the club.
Coming into form exactly at the right time. No one will want us if we get into that top 5, but who cares. Bring it on.

Re: Chester tonight
I went to the game last night and thought overall we did enough to win the game. The teams efforts were outstanding and it was obvious later on that a few of them were running on empty. As for Chester they looked a half decent side. One thing that seemed to perturb the locals was the performance of the man in the middle, by the end of the first half the Chester locals were singing "you don't know what you're doing". The last time I heard this sung at Holker Street was when we played and got beat by Plastic Green Rovers this season and guess what it was the same man in the middle.
I said last night he obviously does it to incite the home crowd or he's doing it tonight to make up for how bad he was at Holker Street!!!!
