Hartlepool fancy dress last home game
Re: Hartlepool fancy dress last home game
It is a good point Steve and I know I keep harping on about it being a good test for match day management. Just as a club in any league, we need to be able to manage safely any larger away followings and that means having slick match day planning processes in place that can be rolled out quickly and efficiently from managing 50-2000 away fans with quick decision making, knowing the resources needed and putting them on standby. All part of the learning.

No, they didn’t. We had to open an emergency exit to get people off Wilkie Road as it was getting dangerous with people having to stand in the road as there was no room on the pavement. I was the aforementioned emergency turnstile operative. I had no change, no tickets, nowt. Trevor Jones (I think) counted how many were coming in and I stuffed all the money in my coat pockets. It was all very much on the hoof.Jonty wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 2:36 pmOk I mean the club managed it well on the day with not knowing exactly how many would turn up. It was pay on the gate and they all got in through two turnstiles in time for kick offLancaster Branch wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 11:10 am
No, it wasn’t.
At least this time we’ll know how many are coming so we can plan properly. Darlo was more fluid as their situation was unravelling through the week up to the game.

is it true Hartlepool have offered some of their own stewards to help out on the day? I’m sure I read it in an article online somewhere?

Man the big gate in corner next to garage and let people with paper tickets through it.

We just cleared it and cleaned it out not more than a month ago Al. It’s not entirely ready for use but it could be so long as it can be manned on the day.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 10:07 pm Man the big gate in corner next to garage and let people with paper tickets through it.
Manning them always seems to be the problem though.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Just a handful of away tickets left by all accounts. Fantastic effort by the pools!

Probably going to be our largest crowd of the season thanks to their effort.
