As mentioned already, Boreham Wood chairman won’t take the team past the end of April, seems to be only a matter of time before other clubs follow suite. Seems like the season will just end but it’s catch 22 for the governing bodies on what to do.

Re: Decisions being made
Well his most recent statement doesn't actually say that but I take your point. If I'm interpreting his message from the NL to its Chairman correctly it would appear that
- The NL will try to keep aligning themselves with the EFL for as long as possible - i.e. they will take the EFL's lead.
- There is a view that the Premiership season would have to finish at the very latest by July for commercial contractual reasons but the EFL seem
to be of the view that the EFL season could continue into August or beyond. So presumably that's also the NL's view
- Until such time as the EFL make any decision or (for whatever reason) the NL breaks ranks the season remains suspended but not closed.
Think its fair to say that in his statement the Bhamwood chairman Danny Hunter can barely disguise his bewilderment with this position as it raises many questions without any answers. I also get the impression that he doesn't think the position is sustainable and that somebody somewhere will have to make a decision before too long though its unlikely to be anybody in the NL. So there you have it.

Re: Decisions being made
I appreciate that this decision may not suit everyone, but now that the National League has been aligned with the EFL who want to finish the season and they decide later on that it is not possible there will be more pressure on them to accept the positions in all four leagues and allow the promotions and delegations to take place. It may not be the perfect solution, but I think it will back them into a corner where they will.be forced to accept Barrow as the rightful heirs to their position in division 2.

The previous post should read relegations not delegations to take place.

Re: Decisions being made
Wukkie 10 points clear in their League have been denied promotion by the FA announcement that their level and below must call a halt immediately with the season effectiveley null and void. South Shields in the Premier division of the same league were 12 points clear and apparently are preparing to appeal. This is going to get messy.

South Shields statement is a good read; if the decision stands they want all their travel money back, all their red/yellow cards fines money back, all the fans ticket money back

Re: Decisions being made
That’s all fair comment when you think about it. I’m no expert by any means but in law, insurance, management etc. there is usually a clause of ‘force majeure’ which covers unforeseeable circumstances that prevent someone from fulfilling a contract or providing a service. There are going to be winners and losers but it’s not really anyone’s fault and decisions have to be made. I am just pleased that we seem to be still in it with a sporting chance although things have been changing overnight in this crisis.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 8:28 am South Shields statement is a good read; if the decision stands they want all their travel money back, all their red/yellow cards fines money back, all the fans ticket money back

Re: Decisions being made
It must be particularly gutting for Vauxhall Motors who had already gained promotion - no one could catch them. This one could run and run.
It all comes 'round again.
Re: Decisions being made
Now the decision has been made to void the leagues below, thus denying several clubs promotion, I can't see how the National league could do anything different. If they promote anyone, there will be outcry from those below. I am resigned to the season being written off, unless some way can be found to give the illusion that it has continued - such as finishing fixtures behind closed doors.
Trying to be objective and ignoring our situation, I think the season needs to be written off, as it is the least complicated solution, and if it happens throughout the pyramid nobody can really complain. I am resigned to us missing promotion now. The only glimmer of hope would be an executive decision by the FA to bring the Football League back to its full complement of clubs, in which case Barrow would be the obvious candidate.

Re: Decisions being made
Decision has been made Jim.
The National League and NL North and South will play out their seasons.
All leagues below have their season expunged.
