Let's hope for some news today. Would be good to move on into the new season.

Probably not today, but I agree about moving on. We have been waiting for one thing or another since March: decision on our promotion, whether Evatt was leaving or not, and now waiting for a new manager. It will be nice to have a management team in place and start to look forward again to the new season.

It’s the minimal managerial experience that bothers me good players not always good managers plus the fact he has some sort of distraction of business interest.Evatt and co able to concentrate 100 per cent on managing and coaching.Also we appear to have targeted this chap but if doesn’t take up offer have we a default option as starting again with advertising and interviews takes time we have not got.Available good squad players will be snapped by others.Hope sorted soon.

However im sure he would be 100 percent behind the job and from meeting him a few times at chorley when flitcroft and jansen were there he is a great fella and links to rovers will certainly help

Whoever is appointed poses a risk, quite often the experienced manager doesn’t quite fit the club and players. I’d much rather we appointed someone based on their philosophy and style, which matches the way the club wants to play.

Also worth remembering that Dunn wasn’t simply a premiership player, if he gets this job he will have played or coached in all four divisions as well as having experienced coaching young developing players.

If Rob Kelly is assistant then that is a huge boost. He will being masses of experience.

Have many experienced managers have we had who have been a disaster? The ‘inexperienced’ ones have probably been the best. Baylis and Sheridan, edmondson, Evatt. Let’s get behind him, he is a brilliant coach who the players like and get on with. He got stitched up at Oldham. Let’s see what he can do?

I personally would have preferred the advertised route for the new manager.

A list of applicants sure would have plenty. List to be selected interviewed, then from this your short list. Say final three. At least this way you get to know your ALL your interested applicants and how they propose to work.
We went this one way appointment with mickey moore and look what happened, the Cassons did at least learn from this with interviews then appointed IE.
Yes i appreciate its a time saver for the board on interview process, I sincerely hope its proved the right way for its surely the most important decision the board will have to make now we are back in league.

But he is his friend and partner in the business, GT. If I was looking for a manager, I certainly wouldn't be hiring him.
