Poor old JT was run ragged by the speed of young Villa. He was never in the game. Can only remember him making 1, maybe 2 short passes the entire game. Tried his best, but unfortunately he's not the player of 2-years ago. 35 years of age next birthday will do that to you. Maybe now ass. coach. Can only imagine he was a surprise starter because 'we only had 14 fit players' - Cooper. Might as well have played 1 of the 2 goalies subs in mid-field. Better legs at least.
Pleased that JT got a full 90, been a great servant to the club. Who gives a shit if he was a bit off the pace. We just made a fat wedge off a glorified friendly.
He aint no kevin ellison should be playing national north at best

JT will be okay vs many L2 sides this season, Which will probably be his last, But obvs not again a far superior, PL standard side full of youth & enthusiasm with pace to burn.

Taylor is fine in certain circumstances but last night wasn’t one of them.
He’s a fine squad player this season for me will do a job as and when required.

Southampton have a few more first XI players on the pitch but they are winning 6-0 at Newport with 20 minutes to go. So we aren't the only ones at least.

Not sure any L2 side would concede five to Arsenal either :D

Not sure he will tbh, Tom White can do his job (better) now with younger/fresher legs. Taylor’s a handy fella to have around the squad but we really don’t want him to be starting many games anymore

Always thought you had a dark side !
The fella that was controlling the line said only popular side tickets could use the popular side gates I asked
I arrived at 7:10pm and the Holker end queue was round the corner into Asda car park. After a few minutes someone came down checking that people were actually queueing for the Holker end, and no need to be in this queue if your ticket was for the popular side. That thinned it out only a little bit, most people knew that already. By 7:30 I had almost reached the turn off for the popular side, and was seriously doubting that I would get in before kick-off. At this point we were told that we could use the popular side turnstiles, so a lot of us did that and got in with plenty of time to spare. The message obviously didn't get to everyone though as I noticed people were still queueing for the Holker End long after the game started.

I suspect the need to scan 'tickets' was partly to blame. One guy in the queue near me said, "How long does it take to hand over a ticket?". Puts it into perspective. Technology can slow things down.

Villa have donated their part of the gate receipts back to Barrow. What a magnificent gesture.
Taken from the BBC website.
Doh, just noticed it was reported much earlier. :scarf:

Great gesture from a great club. Think Villa may have made quite a few armchair fans in South Cumbria.

Whilst most of the Villa players were (outstanding) youngsters - one of the players Anwar El-Ghazi looks like he will complete a £15million move from Villa to Roma before the end of the Transfer window.... mind boggling figures to a side that was National League 2 seasons ago.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but Axel Tuanzebe made his European debut in a win for Manchester United at PSG last year, the latter containing the likes of Neymar and Mbappe.
