With a quarter of the season left why would you even ask such questions, you might as well just say let's accept relegation. We have enough decent players to get us out of this, neither leyton orient or stevenage aren't doing much at the moment, let's start asking questions about who has what clauses at the end of the season.behind the goals wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 9:04 pm Not looking very good now, our abysmal home record goes on we have 5 games left be lucky to get 5pts, we could finish on 40pts and will go down, such a shame for the younger fans who will never see us back in the league, for us older fans we will probably come back next season to watch National League Football. Regarding the Manager he won`t walk away but will carry on until the end of his contract unless sacked so gets paid whatever. Would like someone on here(Maybe Adam) have the players got relegation clauses in their contracts because we have 16/17 players contracted for next season.

"still 12 games to go but we stink of relegation now; its OK we can spend the next 50 years moaning there was a conspiracy to get us out.Bingo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:24 amWith a quarter of the season left why would you even ask such questions, you might as well just say let's accept relegation. The board have spent a lot of money, made massive mistakes should not have appointed the guy - oh well what will be will be its not over yet" What`s changed your view ?
Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
My thoughts exactly. We are where we are. In my despondent moments , I now fear that relegation is more likely than not, but then I remember that there are many more twists and turns to come between now and the end of the season, and also that fans on several other forums will probably be showing much the same anxiety as us. I also have my own views and misgivings about the way things have gone and are going.Bingo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:24 amWith a quarter of the season left why would you even ask such questions, you might as well just say let's accept relegation. Nevertheless, I believe that we must get behind the team and manager. The time for inquests is early May, when the season is over and we know where we stand.

With the big strikers ban up (sorry forgot his name) we now have practically a fully fit squad. So its now or never ! Rochdale, Scunny, Carlisle and Layton orient in next 2 weeks - if we can't pick up at least 6 points in those games i just can't see us staying up ! I want to be proved wrong and there are what 12 games to go ? Some seriously tough games esp near the end of the season. Would could be in bottom 2 this time next weekend

We are where we are.
Seven pages of emotion and worry...because people care. It's a pivotal 12 games in the history of Barrow AFC.
We all know the reasons, or think we do. Like everyone on here I agree with some views and others not at all.
All we can do is stick two fingers up at everyone else and back the side, limited and frustrating though that may be. We've done it for far worse Barrow teams than this. Workington double header before Edmo started to sort us out. That awful sack of shite we dragged collectively over the line a few years back, with James on loan. Years (outside cups and magic moments) of poor away games with Bayles and Shez. Even last season, felt the need to leave the house and huddle in a gazebo outside the Tally to 'celebrate' FGR away.
And before my time, a miracle in with local players and a few additions, whatever happened off the pitch re he who shall not be named. I'm reliably informed that was the greatest escape of all.
Heid first. (IMHO) What else can we do?

Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
Exactly, most have spent their time worrying about relegation since we got promoted back in to the league. Enjoy what we have whilst we have it back them to the hilt on the field and who knows we might just end up smelling of roses come May. To do it all again next season.barrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 10:21 am We are where we are.

Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
What makes me smile is that IF you criticise certain things you get the " get behind the team support them etc !" I always do NEVER boo the player`s and always trying to spur the player`s on with shouts of encouragement So please stop the patronising comments about not being behind the player`s , i`ll be here next season whatever league we`er in !
Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
There’s half a dozen teams in the mix at the bottom, and any team can jump out of it with two wins in a row. All to play for and keep backing us to get the points we need.

We have had no luck and during a season like it or not luck plays its part ,we are where we are and now is the time to be united if we fail we fail together.
Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
We are where we are because of 1 man put him on gardening leave and put jason taylor in charge and i guarantee with the same players he will keep us in league football its about heart and passion something thats lacking in my opinion

Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
We have a tiny, Tom Thumb-ish front line and attacking midfield. How are we still lumping it in the air towards comparative monsters and expecting to get anything?
Also, a glancing header is an acceptable goal to concede on the 6 yard line but that one was way out. It was a bloody soft goal.
How do we get back to the Gotts and Stevens of early season? How do we get back to the Banks driving force he was once (not so long ago)? I can't help thinking that it isn't a hundred problems that we have, but that it is only one or two. I think our biggest problem is one of appropriate leadership in the team and on the pitch, and of self-belief in certain areas. We are not a bad team, we are just playing badly.

Re: Barrow v Walsall match thread
Nothing to do with having bad luck. We are in our current position because we don't have one decent striker!
We're not that bad a side. And John Rooney has added more creativity to our play. His goal was class! Both him and Gotts were excellent against Walsall. Going past players and creating space. Patrick Brough's play down the left flanks was also creditable. One pass he made was sublime - it skimmed across the penalty area and nine out of ten strikers would have buried it! We had three players in the box and all failed to convert it. Harris (too young, too frail, and totally out of his depth in this league) tried to claim a penalty when he was in a position to break the net! Gordon (total waste of space as a striker) was in the box too plus another. It's failed goal scoring opportunities like that which account for our poor position in this league. And which will probably lead to us being relegated.
One saving grace - apart from our abysmal strikers - is that Mark Cooper has moulded together a decent side capable of mounting a promotion challenge next season if we do go down - but only if we can sign one or two 'decent' strikers.
I waited 48 years to see us playing back in the EFL but I've always being of the opinion that we'll never return if we are relegated.
Not so now. I've seen enough this season to believe that we have a fairly decent team. Get rid of the sh*te.
Sign a decent striker and we'll be back! Keep the Faith.

I like your thinking but it makes no sense
, sadly it doesn't work like that as I think you know.
