He kicked his radio over when he heard Gordon had scored the opener.

Loads we can improve on, and Waters and Whitfield tired badly in the second half - but their contribution in the first half was exactly what we've been missing from our wide attacking players in recent years.

We have luxery of swapping them for Stephens and Kay, equally as good

Thanks for that , really comes across as a down to earth, positive guy, only the first game but could turn out to be a master stroke getting him in instead of Phil brown

Brilliant result. Everything about the build up to the game was about their big return to EFL. But we hadn't read that script and we showed what we can do in that first half blitz. Cant wait to watch those back again.

Second half we knew the game would change and that they would going to come right out and we would struggle to have much of the ball and that is exactly what happened, but for once we weathered the onslaught.

Brilliant at the end with the players and Wildy showing appreciation for the support and lets hope the Wild fist pump is something we see lots of this season!

UTFBB!!

One thing is clear - we would not have won that game last season - because we would not have scored 3 and the defence would not have held out. Great effort from team and management- congratulations & well done !

I don't think it's something we've necessarily been missing, nor would I consider Waters a wide player. That said he worked his nuts off today and took his goal extremely well. We literally suffocated them with a high press and when we sat off and allowed them to play out/showed them the pass we pressed on an instant, causing the possession turnover.

That comes from the philosophy of the coaching staff being implemented and executed by the players, not the ability of the players alone.

Enjoying this win today because I know we'll probably have chances like that again in another game and we'll miss all of them, with the fans proceeding to call the players $h1te again 🤣

Here's to todays 3!!!

I meant 'wide' as in either side of the centre forward. I'm not sure we've had a forward player cutting in from the wing and capable of incisive finishing since we've been promoted. Kay to a degree but hasn't been consistent in League 2. I think Bennett will complement them well.

Fantastic start to the season, let's not be too negative about the second half. To go there and come away with 3 points from a club that's tipped for promotion/ playoffs brilliant.
Well done to PW and staff, great start boys.

All the usual "technical experts" on here giving it loads of ,after 1, I repeat 1 game. The chuffing mind boggles. We have just beaten the " best team since Barcelona" The self proclaimed heirs to the league 2 title. Yes, it's one game, but the hardest game we could have had for an opener. I still can't believe you lot are crititicising the players after one game. Enjoy the day for gods sake. We were expected to get hammered. Let's hope our new scoreboard doesn't say nil again on Tuesday.

Not sure if it's the same guy but there was a Phil Brown on 606 tonight.
