Ridiculous Peter come on man.
He has made a fair few decisions which have baffled me of late, a couple of which were against Crawley.

Unless he was carrying an injury, there is no way on earth that Kenlock should be preferred to Brough and I can't for the life of me understand why he took off Neal who, for my money, was close to being our best player and is certainly the only midfield player, other than the missing Foley, who tackles properly and stops the opposition running past him.

Secondly, he substitution of Whitfield was baffling as he was the only forward who looked even slightly like troubling the Crawley defence and is the only player capable of crossing the ball to the 2 big lumps who had been brought on.

We actually dominated almost the whole second half but managed to create almost nothing. Unfortunately, Gordon seems to be reverting to the Gordon of last season lately and he was the main attacking spark with Whitfield. Moyo is just not good enough and I doubt whether Bennett will be either. When he was last here a good few years ago he wasn't great but because Harrison was so good at the time he was useful to flick on headers to use Harrison's pace.

As is always said, the posters on this forum (which is only a handful of Barrow supporters) are entitled to their own opinions. Stuff like the above does show how fickle football fans are. Also lacking in knowledge, understanding and the wider picture

Aye anybody reading this forum for the first time and some of the posts after Saturdays game wouldn't believe we are fifth in the league and with as many points now 31 that took us until March to accumulate last season.

We're also worse than we were when we were in non-league. Baffling.

As I said in an earlier post, I'm expecting a mid-table position. I would say anybody expecting a play-off place is lacking 'knowledge, understanding and the wider picture' but we will see at the end of the season!

Rather condescending for you Russell, finding ourselves sat 5th after 40% of the season played, and only having witnessed probably LO and Northampton looking better than us, I think a play off position is doable.

I think this thread is getting a bit silly now.

But I agree Desmond I think a play off place is doable as long, obviously, "our bumps in the road" don'r last too long.

Only really seen glimpses of this lad & these are when he’s coming back from injuries but I think this lad will play a big part going forwards providing he isn’t one of those injury prone types who never get going or mast long enough before their next time out
Also Benni Smales-Braithwaite made his football league debut against Colchester. I know he's gone on loan but now at one step higher so hopefully get him up and running and more competition for the wingers/forwards.

I think a few on the forum may have lost a little perspective. For the last two seasons we have been a mediocre squad, poorly managed (Rob Kelly apart bless him) and have underperformed even against those limitations.

Now we have a decent squad that is well managed and generally performing at a higher standard. Any mistakes that are made by the players or the manager - managing his first EFL campaign.remember - need to be put into the proper context.

It’s natural to moan about your team even out of love for it. But it’s also easy to forget how far we’ve come in such a short time.

At present we are out performing what the bookies predicted.
We also in my view need a proven midfielder and a poacher.
Besides the team having new players we have a manager new to this level for any period.
Very much on track in my view.

Wow Pedro, something positive and negative in the same post. Why do the bookies matter? On track for what? Seems like the squad aren’t up to your high standards. Who do you have in mind that would fit the bill for the gaps?
