Ridiculous handling by the club,letting coaches from all over full of kids ,who they dont normally want unless accompanied by an adultà,in when hundreds of season ticket holders and regular fans cant get inas well as the barrovian toffee fans.yes i can understand the steward issue,but loyal fans cant get in shambles!

I agree. I'm not knocking the kids who attended just the club. I thought the banning order was still in place? No under 15s (unless accompanied by an adult). So, what happened? Has the banning order (hopefully) been scrapped?

Its an EFL recommendation, not the Lancashire FA. Besides which, I think it's common sense to assume 6/700 primary school kids accompanied by teaching staff aren't going to be throwing fireworks or kicking off in any way at what is essentially an open training game against kids.
Perhaps write to the EFL and ask why they and most clubs in the EFL apply this rule? Its Specifically stated on the Bradford tickets for next week as well. Are they also wrong? We were one of the few who didn't until circumstances put the eyes of the authorities on us.
Why are people on here getting so worked up about some young kids having a grand day out instead of it being played behind closed doors?

See it for what it is. A good workout for the players and a great way to get the next generation of fans onboard. Some of us got to watch some football that would, ordinarily, have been played behind closed doors.

I can understand Bradford implementing that recommendation - massive home crowds (therefore minimum loss of revenue) and a young hooligan element named 'The Ointment' to contend with. However, that banning order at Barrow AFC is ludicrous and certainly not going to entice the next generation.

I think the EFL need to give their heads a good wobble. I attended Holker Street regularly with a group of mates - all under 15 - in the 70s. And we never caused any trouble. If it had been suggested that we had to attend with an adult, I know what our (and many other groups of youngsters) response would have been and we would never have returned.

Wait until the home attendance figures start tumbling. It's already began. It'll be interesting to see how the BOD react with regard to that banning order

"Banning Order", "Hundreds of fans locked out". The exaggeration is strong on this forum.
Been waiting for the home attendances to start dropping for ages because of this so called "banning Order". A slight drop off that coincides with a bad run of form and Xmas is hardly evidence of attendances tumbling because of under 15's having to attend with an adult is it?
For what it's worth, I'd like to think under 15's could still attend like I did, but clearly the club had to do something or risk a big fine or more.
The point is, the club didn't implement the advice from the EFl and a few idiots spoiled it. The "one incident from one youth" could've been so much more serious than a flare or acting hard in front of the away fans. Unfortunately that means the eyes of the authorities were on us and to be seen to do nothing was not an option. Whether you agree or not, it's where we are, in line with most other EFL clubs. I don't like it, but I understand it.

I do hope the club laid on expensive hospitially and champagne and Pete was licking the bums of all their staff hence his attendance of all their under 18 staff in the hope we get cosy and maybe a bond and we might get a 17 year old loan. Preston and Beckham etc. Doubt it though..why he was there hopefully Pete did a good job like the club impressed Everton under 18s management hopefully.

Spoke to an Everton ex player involved was really unimpressed behind the goal in first half.with the ground not really a place we want to send our under 18s to play. This is normal 1981 Liverpool v West Ham was first one we had around 30 tickets then tho. Why is.this.new?? Surely you know Barrow have tickets for every cup final since dawn exsisted??

Fa cup final is.double the amount.

A.club 3 levels below us have had their 36 tickets and around 100 for the fa cup final for since time began.

Is the Football league a bit much for us. 6 tickets was the norm in the national North since 1999. Many have enjoyed these freebies and now we progress we get more shock horror.

Well they better get used to playing in 'substandard' grounds because 99% of them will end up playing non league in 3 years when they get released.
