Longish journey for a Tuesday night and after a first half no show from us I began to wish I hadn’t bothered All the energy and enterprise came from Doncaster they went ahead in a somewhat fortuitous manner though a definite two handed push in the back of Warren I think it was allowed them the chance to score. Couldn’t believe the referee missed it but they showed superiority in the opening forty five minutes where as we looked devoid of ideas at all.
Think there was a bit of soul searching in the changing rooms at halftime. We came out with one change the hapless Warren off and Newby on in a rejigged back line. But we also found some belief in ourselves Gotts and Whitfield were involved in the better passages of our play but the delivery from crosses by Whitfield were poor in the main especially from corners looping balls that were picked off by their keeper. Thought we lost our impetus once Gotts went off whether that was to save him from a second yellow I’m not sure. But once again we rarely tested an opponents keeper.

Bradford have really picked up lately since they restored Cooky to the starting line up; if you’re concerned about us losing then yes I wouldn’t bother. There’s every chance we do

I was hoping the fault in the lights might have saved us, played well second half and dominated but yet again reluctance to shoot at goal, we at least deserved a point but you do not always get what you deserve.

Listening to Pete Wild he seemed dejected.
Normally every club has a bad patch but ours seems to be going on to long.
We have more games to try and break this cycle but the clear and obvious thing is the inability to change the shape and score.
Previously Scott Quigley goals got us promoted and kept us up we have no goal scorer or poacher.
Something will have to change at the end of the season either the players or the Manager if this run is not broken.

Cheers Adam, 2 questions that needed asking “what’s changed so much since the start of the season and have heads been turned”. The latter question PW seemed to agree with you. I heard Brough In a recent interview mentioning his family etc support him not the team, guess that’s the reality of players, is it just a job and not playing for the badge. Whereas someone like Connor Brown put in 100% every game. We saw Matt platt play crap after his head was turned early on, still didn’t affect his “job” at Bradford starting in the first team in the following season.

According to the manager some weeks ago, 80% of L2 teams that concede first don't come back from it.

Wonder if that is an actual statistic. If so, does it mean don't come back to win or don't come to draw or win?

Another interesting statistic would be how many Farman punts downfield find a Barrow player or have Barrow in possession on the subsequent second touch.

What Pete wild said was that in league 2 stats show that in 80% of games the team that scores first go on to win the game

Though ball distribution was considered one of his strengths (not by us, but by former clubs and neutral commentators).

Pete Wild comes across as a genuine decent guy and I’m sure he’ll turn things around. At times like these I feel for not only the fans but the Board who have put a small fortune into the club and seen what looked at one stage as a promising season turn into a run of the mill one.

I guess we’ve all got to think back to where we’ve come from in such a relatively short space of time.

Having said all of that I’m now beginning to look at results at the bottom of the league rather than those affecting the play off places.

The sooner we reach 48 / 50 points the better.

Keep the faith.

Dreadful first half showing, gave more of a go of it second half but never really looked like scoring.

Another ground ticked off and good to see folk. Fortunately, a shorter journey back home for me to the #0161

I might be wrong but I see a team that's trying but they need leadership on the field .
As for formations, I think we now have to forget about other teams and concentrate on HOW we want to play to our strengths, we have to get back on the front foot we're just not good enough to invite pressure also why do we pull everyone back at set pieces? when we have some really small player's ( compared to others), it inevitably comes straight back at us.
As for people making the excuse "we've come a long way "
Yes and no we've been in league football now for over two and a half seasons, if we don't know how to play to get results, then how long are we supposed to get?
Let's all stop making excuses because I feel it's just making things worse, let's look at the positives we're not getting hammered, Pete just has to stop thinking he has to entertain , just grind out a result it's imperative we don't get relegated ( don't laugh lots of teams free fall)
Pete needs to take time think of which player's will give everything and battle on the pitch NO FAVOURITES
for the life of me whilst he's not the best how could we afford to let Connor brown go?
Pete mentioned once about outside forces picking selection, this cannot happen, I don't care who's picked, what formation as long as I can see desire purpose,
BACK TO BASICS!

Re- Farman kicking it- We don’t play it out from the back for the very reason we saw last night. Teams putting a high press on our defenders. Therefore the risk of turning over possession from a Farman kick is less consequential when it’s in the opposition half than if we lose possession in our own defensive third. Plus it allows our forwards to take on a Farman kick against an opposition defender as often the last man. Wild obviously playing percentages with this tactic. How many times do teams (us included) concede with a goal that has had less than three touches from the keeper. It works well at this level if you have physical players up front who can win the battle against the CB.

Yes, though while ball distribution may be good, it also has to have a positive outcome.
